SNSD-Tae
Ti Seo received two awards at the Gaon Chart K-pop Awards.
On February 13 at 7:00 p.m., Tae Ti Seo received the Artist of the Year – May
and the Best Album – the Second Quarter at the second Gaon Chart K-pop Awards,
which was held at the Olympic Hall in the Olympic Park.
Tae Ti Seo is a group formed by SNSD’s Seohyun, Tiffany, and Taeyeon. The
group’s “Twinkle” topped the Gaon Chart in May last year, receiving about 119
million points. The EP, which contains the song, sold about 140,000 copies,
topping the chart in the second quarter.
After receiving the awards, Seohyun said, “I’m so happy because many people
love us,” and Tiffany said, “I’m so fortunate because I’m having a job that I
can be really passionate about, and I’m even more fortunate to win the awards.
We’ll work harder.”
Taeyeon said, “Thank you so much for supporting three of us as you did to
SNSD,” and called names of all members of SNSD.
The K-pop Awards selects the winners based on the accurate, objective data
(sales volumes of songs and albums) collected by the Gaon Chart. The Artist of
the Year is given to the groups that top the chart each month and quarter.
The award ceremony was hosted by Joo Young Hoon and Ga In from the Brown Eyed
Girls. Such artists as Big Bang, Super Junior, TVXQ, SNSD-Tae Ti Seo, 2NE1, the
Wonder Girls, and T-ara attended the awards.
