Actress
Lee Young Ae recently donated her talent.
On February 13, Seo Kyung Duk, a professor of Sung Shin Women’s University
and a publicist of Korean culture, reported, “Lee Young Ae, who is promoting
Korean food all over the world through the drama series Dae Jang Geum,
recently participated in making an ad for Bibimbap. It’s currently run in New
York Times.”
The ad was printed on the page 15 of the A section of New York Times. In the
ad, Lee is introducing the drama series Dae Jang Geum and Bibimbap in
hanbok under the big title of “BIBIMBAP?”
Seo, who designed the ad, said, “I wanted to introduce Bibimbap in a
friendlier way with Lee Young Ae, the lead actress of the drama series Dae
Jang Geum that has been watched by over three billion people from about 90
countries, as an advertising model. It was to introduce Bibimbap to more
countries, but at the same time, I also wanted to let the world know about the
beauty of hanbok.”
A spokesperson for Lee says, “Because Dae Jang Geum is still popular
in many countries, Lee Young Ae gladly participated in the making of the ad in
order to make a contribution to the globalization of Korean food.
