Infinite’s Woohyun and Sungyeol, 4Minute’s Jihyun Confirmed to Star in “High School”


4Minute’s Nam Jihyun has been cast alongside Infinite’s Woohyun and Sungyeol in the upcoming KBS 2TV drama “High School” (working title).

On April 29, a KBS representative told OSEN, “Woohyun and Sungyeol accepted the casting offer as the male leads after thinking it over. We are in the final stages of casting the female lead as well as the rest of the cast. Filming will start some time during the next month.

In addition, a representative of Infinite’s agency, Woollim Entertainment revealed, “We are currently adjusting their schedules. As long as there is no conflict, the casting arrangements will continue as planned.

A representative from 4Minute’s agency, Cube Entertainment also said, “Jihyun has decided to take up the offer for ‘High School.’ She will act as the female lead and will be participating in the script reading at the beginning of May.”

“High School” is a teen drama with a coming-of-age storyline revolving around love and friendship among high school students.

SHINee’s Onew Missing From Final Lineup for “Singin’ in the Rain”

Recently, the final lineup for the cast of “Singin’ in the Rain” was released. SHINee’s Onew, who had been mentioned as one of the leads in past reports, was missing from the list. The lineup for the lead role of Don Lockwood was announced as EXO’s Baekhyun, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, and TRAX’s Jay.

A production official said to SportsSeoul.com, “We’ve continuously been discussing the casting of Onew, but there are still internal things that need to be worked out. While the lineup has been released, following discussion, Onew could still join the cast.” On the inclusion of TRAX’s Jay, another official said that Jay was originally going to be a member of the cast.

“Singin’ in the Rain” is a musical adaptation of the famous 1952 film of the same name.

Also starring in the musical is Girls’ Generation’s Sunny in the role of Kathy Selden. The musical will be running from June 5 through August 3.
