Lee Si Young joins an official boxing team!

Actress Lee Si Young is now officially a part of an Incheon boxing team.

On January 27, a representative of J-wide company that manages the actress told Starnews, “On January 31, Lee will be joining the boxing team of Incheon City Hall and will appear in the joining ceremony. She has decided to be a part of the team because she’s deeply in love with boxing. Definitely, she will continue her career as an actress, and the agency will also support her. However, since her original career is an actress, she will put her acting career at her top priority.”

As she now becomes a part of the boxing team, people build expectations on her participation in the 2014 Incheon Asian Game. About the issue, her agency said, “She has to go through pre-match such as preliminaries. She can’t be a part of it simply because she wants to. We’ll have to see further how things will turn out.”

According to the personnel, she also finished signing an annual contract with the boxing team.

In the meantime, the actress started boxing in 2010 and won the 47th boxing competition for amateurs (48kg) in the following year. Last year in July, she also won at the 41st Seoul Amateur Bowing Contest which was also held as the 93rd National Seoul Boxing Championship.

IU Confirmed for Weekend Drama “The Best Lee Soon Shin” with Jo Jung Suk

IU has been confirmed for the upcoming KBS weekend drama, “The Best Lee Soon Shin” along with Jo Jung Suk.

 

“The Best Lee Soon Shin” is about a bright girl, Lee Soon Shin, who moves to the big city of Seoul from a small village island after her father passes away. She will bring warmth and healing to the big yet unfriendly city of Seoul through her loving character.

 

IU’s character Lee Soon Shin is bright and energetic even during hard times. Her usual cute and innocent image that captivated uncle fans everywhere is expected to further highlight her character.

 

IU commented, “The synopsis was very fun and I felt very attracted to Soon Shin’s character. When I first received the lovecall, I hesitated because she was such an important character and I felt pressured. But I wanted to do it and my determination to succeed was bigger than the pressure.”

 

About her character, IU said, “Soon Shin is not pretty or lucky but she is always strong and friendly. She knows she’s not a hot shot but she wants to be loved and shine more than anyone else. Soon Shin is very strong and doesn’t lose hope in any circumstance – that’s why I was so attracted to her.”

 

IU continued, “I want to start shooting as soon as possible and show everyone my best efforts as an actress.” She also added, “I’m so honored to be working with my senior actors, whom I respect so much.”

 

On the other hand, Jo Jung Suk will play a CEO of a successful business, Shin Joon Ho. He is arrogant, cold and competitive but finally realizes the true meaning of success after falling in love with Lee Soon Shin.

 

Jo Jung Suk, who has won the Rookie Award for last year’s Blue Dragon Awards, commented, “Personally, 2012 was such a happy year for me. To the point where I thought I should work harder

in 2013. I will keep trying hard to show you good things.”

 

Jo Jung Suk also expressed his big hopes for this drama. He said, “I am so honored to be the leading role of a KBS weekend drama. I’m also excited to work with director Yoon Sung Shik and writer

Jung Yoo Kyung,” and “I will try my hardest while having fun. Then I believe the viewers will have fun while they watch too.”

Actor Lee Jong Suk recently talked about how he would change after ten years.

On the episode of KBS 2TV’s Weekly Entertainment, Lee gave an interview. Regarding the question about what he wants to do after ten years,” Lee said, “I think I’ll be running a cafe in an isolated place after ten years.”

However, he soon showed off a confident look by saying, “Or I’ll be still working as a famous actor.” He also wrote a letter to himself after ten years, “I feel like I’m starting all over again as an actor. I hope you do your best all the time.”

Lee also said he wants to shoot a melodrama series with actress Lee Na Young.

On the January 26th broadcast of SBS‘ ’Star King‘ there was a beast instrument battle show.

During the show, Shin Ji Ho, known as a beast pianist and Con, a beast violinist, appeared as guests and displayed an amazing harmony.

 

Con received a lot of attention for his back hug while performing. The person he hugged was Girl’s Generation’s Hyoyeon. The wonderful back hug made Hyoyeon extremely happy.

 

MC Boom asked Hyoyeon, “Is this the first back hug of the new year for you?“ She replied, “No, this is the first back hug I received my entire life. My heart is beating really fast. He is amazing.”

On the January 26th episode of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Entertainment Relay‘, Lee Jong Suk shared, “I prepared to be part of an idol group for about three months.”

He explained how he ended up choosing to act instead, stating, “In middle school, I watched the drama ‘Full House‘, but it didn’t make me want to become an actor. I decided that I wanted to be like Rain.”

 

He went on, “After that, I joined an agency and they wanted to prepare me to become an actor, but I ended up modeling instead. Since I chose the wrong agency, I started out as a model. When I stopped modeling, I moved to a music agency. I then trained to be part of an idol group. I prepared for around three months, and then I ran away.”
