Kim Hyun Joong and Ringo Starr, of the Beatles, share the stage



Singer and actor Kim Hyun Joong recently shared the stage with world-class musicians at the U-Express Live 2013 concert, held in Japan. About 15,000 fans joined the frenzy. The concert, a special collaborative performance hosted by Universal Music, brought together representative singers from five record labels: the Beatles’ Ringo Starr, Kim Hyun Joong, KARA, Far East Movement, Dreams Come True, Perfume, and Naoto Intiraimi.
 
Kim Hyun Joong performed eight of his hit songs, including “Heat,” “Kiss Kiss,” “Lucky Guy,” and “Your Story.” His dynamic dance performance along with the strong rock-band sound overwhelmed the audience.




Officials from his agency announced, “Kim Hyun Joong is getting global attention by getting his name on the representative list of world-renowned music labels.“
 
He has successfully completed his Asian and South American concert tours, and has zeroed in on his current Japanese tour,f titled Japan Tour 2013 Unlimited. Japanese fans will be able to see him by the end of March in Tokyo, Sappro, Fukuoka , and Osaka.

All grown up, Shinee hold a miniconcert at Club Octagon


 
According to SM Entertainment, Shinee’s agency, the group held a concert at Club Octagon in Nonhyeon-dong, Seoul, on March 3. They performed the lead track from their third album, Dream Girl, and “You Are Beautiful” in a remix version for especially for the club. They also did one of their older hits, “Lucifer.”
 
The concert held at the club had special significance in that the youngest member of Shinee, Tae Min, has turned 21 years old this year, so now all the members of the group are adults. Sim Jae Won from Beat Burger worked on the concert as a special DJ and created a festive atmosphere. The crowd of men and women in their 20s who attended the event enjoyed Shinee’s performance, enthusiastically singing along with the songs.
 
Shinee released their third studio album, Chapter 1, Dream Girl – the Misconceptions of You, on the 19th of February. The album proved popular, reaching number one on various music charts.

Korean Idol group FT lsland will release its 10th Japanese EP on March 27


FNC Entertainment, the agency that represents FT Island, is going to release You Are My Life, the group’s 10th Japanese EP on March 27. FT Island has announced the release on its official Japanese website, and the promotional work related to the new album is in progress.
 
The album contains three songs, including the lead track, “You Are My Life,” which expresses thoughts about a lover through honest lyrics, sung in the touching voice of vocalist Lee Hong Ki.
 
FT Island is planning to hold an official fan meeting celebrating the release of the new EP on the 10th and 17th of March. Recently, the group successfully wrapped up its exclusive concert, the Take FT Island Tour Live in Shanghai, held at the Shanghai’s Changning International Gymnastics Centre.

2PM holds Press Conference in Manila.

The Filipino KPop community was once again hustling and bustling over the weekend, as Korean boy group 2PM arrived in the Philippines last Friday, March 1, 2013.
 
Ok Taecyeon, Nichkhun, Jun. K, Lee Junho, Jang Wooyoung and Hwang Chansung – collectively known as 2PM – are scheduled for a one-night concert dubbed as“What Time Is It” on March 2, 2013 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
 
Achieving global status for their hit singles “Hands Up,” “Heart Beat,” “Again and Again” and “Crazy Over You,” the 2PM boys once again affirmed their popularity with their recently released Japanese album. “The Legend of 2PM”, which went out in the market last February 13, is currently ranked at number 1 in the Japan Oricon Charts.
 
Shortly after their arrival, the boys held a Press Conference at the Manila Hotel, where they gamely took turns answering questions from the media. However, only five of them are present as Chansung was still in Korea filming for his drama. The boys assured though, that Chansung will be there at the concert.
 
“First of all, the view is great. Just look outside the window of my hotel room,” began Taecyeon. “When we got off the airplane and we came out to the airport, there were some fans waiting for us and we are very grateful and it was very nice to see you,” he continued, his English impeccable.
 
Wooyoung then went on saying that “since it’s our first concert here in the Philippines, we will try to show our best effort tomorrow.”


 
When asked as to what sets 2PM apart from the other boy groups, Nickchun, who is also an endorser for the Filipino clothing line Bench, answered, “I think it’s our friendship and our teamwork and also honesty. We’re very honest about our feelings whether we’re on TV, off TV and we try to show our true nature to the public as well. I think that’s one of the reasons why people feel that they can relate to us, in a way. We love each other very much.”
 
To wrap up the Press Conference, the boys left messages for their Filipino fans:
 
Jun. K was very enthusiastic in saying, “Mahal na halo-halo,” to which the crowded responded with chuckles. He corrected himself with a smile, “Mahal ko Filipinos. Mahal ko Philippines.” (I love Filipinos. I love the Philippines.)
 
Wooyoung made the crowd swoon when he said, “Mahal kita. Salamat po.” (I love you. Thank you.)
 
But it was Junho’s adorable though grammatically incorrect, “Miss you kita” that made the crowd burst into hearty laughter.

2PM to Filipino HOTTESTs: “You guys are hot!”


Last March 1, 2013, 2PM arrived in Manila, Philippines and experienced a warm welcome from their Filipino fans. This is the first time the group have come to the country. On the same day, they held their press conference at Manila Hotel and amused the media partners and press present.
 
Yesterday, they managed to heat up the atmosphere at their “What Time Is It?: 2PM Live Tour 2013″ held at SM Mall of Asia Arena. Lots of fans went to see them and enjoyed the night away singing, screaming, cheering, dancing and experiencing all kinds of fun.
 
2PM performed a total of 26 songs including solo stages by each member. Each solo stages left a mark to every fans present. Chansung‘s sensual dance in his solo stage, “Love You Down” earned him deafening screams from the fans. Junho‘s solo stage, “Just A Feeling” made fans dance and dance and dance! Then came Wooyoung‘s solo stage that made female fans faint at his sexiness. Taecyeon meanwhile amused everyone with “It’s Time”. Nichkhun definitely became the epitome of an angel as he sang, “Let It Rain” with a piano accompaniment. And of course, Jun.K amazed everyone with his vocal skills during his performance of “Just One Night”. The VCR played as a present for HOTTESTs touched the heart of every fan present at the concert.
 
The highlight of the event would be their performance of “10 Points Out of 10″ followed by “Hands Up” wherein the atmosphere was so high, everyone was singing along much to the group’s delight.

KBS ‘Qualifications of Men’ in talks for cancellation




If reports from KBS are to be believed, its long-running variety program ‘Qualifications of Men‘ may be in danger of cancellation.
 
According to news from KBS insiders, the program is currently on the chopping block, with a firm decision to be made by the end of this month, at the latest.
 
Currently in its fourth year of broadcast, ‘Qualifications of Men’ began with the goal of ’101 things men should do before they die’, setting up challenges and goals for its cast of 30-40 year olds, including Boohwal‘s Kim Tae Won and comedian Lee Kyung Kyu.
 
Under fierce competition from MBC‘s ‘Dad, Where Are You Going‘ and SBS‘s ‘K-Pop Star 2‘, the program has recently seen declining ratings.
 
In other KBS-related news, the station has also recently canned its hyped Kang Ho Dong program, ‘Moonlight Prince‘. Will you miss ‘Qualifications of Men’ if it were to disappear into the sunset?

Lee Hi-FIRST LOVE

After what seems like an eternity of teasing, YG Entertainment has released complete information on Lee Hi‘s first album, ‘First Love‘.
 
The 10-track album will be released in two parts. Part 1 is set for release on March 7th, with her comeback stage on the March 10th episode of ‘K-pop Star 2‘. Five songs including the well received intro, “Turn It Up” and title track “It’s Over“, will be released through online music retailers. Roughly two weeks later, on March 21st, the remaining five songs from the album, plus another title track “Rose“, will be released along with the hard copy of the album. All six B.A.P members together at last for fan meeting


 
B.A.P held a fan meeting at Young Poong Book Store at Gimpo Airport on the 3rd to celebrate the release of their 2nd mini album ‘One Shot‘. A total of 1,000 international and domestic fans gathered. Fans filled up the entire square of the event zone as well as the 2nd floor, showcasing the group’s popularity as one of the hottest rookie groups right now.
 
Himchan, who was unable to take part in most of his group’s latest comeback due to his fractured finger, surprised fans by joining the other members during this event. When fans laid eyes on Himchan, decked in stylish duds and a new pair of glasses, they couldn’t contain their joy giving messages of support for the member.
 

B.A.P showed their gratitude by greeting each fan at the event with eye contact, making each BABY melt in their blissful moment. Himchan thanked his fans and shared, “I am thankful that a lot of people came today.”
 
B.A.P will continue their ‘One Shot’ promotions for the next few weeks.

CNU tweeted a photo of what looks like leader Jinyoung working on a song. He wrote, “No matter how many times I call him, he won’t answer“. This could mean good news for BANAs, as Jinyoung’s known for making a lot of B1A4′s title songs, such as “Baby I’m Sorry” and “Try to Walk“.
 
It’s only been about 3 months since their “Try to Walk” comeback. But WM Entertainment uploaded B1A4′s practice video for “Baby Goodnight” out of nowhere, which might mean that the boys are gearing up to officially come back into the public eye.

U-KISS‘s official twitter account has just revealed a new picture to tease their upcoming third album “Collage.”
 
Set for release on March 7, they have also announced the name of their title track “Standing Still.”
 
Member AJ, who had been studying in the US at Columbia University since last year, will rejoin the group for this comeback album.
 
The group will begin their live comeback promotions starting with M!Countdown on Thursday.
U-KISS last released their seventh mini album “Stop Girl” in September 2012.

The song is characterized by a slow piano melody and Lee Chang Min’s appealing voice.
 
2AM members’ sad eyes are maximizing the sadness of the song, contrasting with the warm background.
 
One Spring Day is 2AM’s first album to be released in three years. Such talented musicians as Iruma, Epitone Project, and Norifly’s Kwon Soon Kwan participated in the album.

MBLAQ’s Seungho and Mir perform “Men Who Annoy Women” on ‘Immortal Song 2′




MBLAQ‘s Seungho and Mir may have been nervous, and had sleepless nights but in the end, they put on a wonderful performance on the March 2nd episode of ‘Immortal Song 2‘.
 
Before getting on stage, Mir stated, “We have to perform, so I’ll enjoy it instead of being nervous,” while Seungho said, “I want to dismiss the idea that we’re merely a dance group that only shows dance. I’ll show you a great performance with solid vocals.”
 
The two idol stars impressed with their performance of ”Men Who Annoy Women” by Moon Joo Ran, but they eventually lost to the band Daybreak by 7 votes. The original singer commented, “I like the song with the rap included; it’s more exciting. It was like listening to a new song.”

The couple decided to sit down and have a heart-to-heart during their last meeting as on-screen husband and wife. Frustratingly, the two found out about something that had lead to a lot of misunderstanding.
 
It turned out that Julien Kang had mistakenly held onto Yoon Se Ah’s former phone number. Julien Kang revealed, “Before, I would send her text messages and get no reply, so it was disappointing. Yoon Se Ah also believed that I didn’t want to contact her, so she was disappointed as well. I just found out that this was an old number.”
 
They exchanged gifts for White Day, and Yoon Se Ah started crying as she read Julien’s letter. He commented, “I think I didn’t express myself as much as I should’ve. I’m sorry. I think it’s too late. I regret it.” During her solo interview, the actress said, “It seems like I’ve always received love from Julien Kang. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to feel like this again in my life.”
 
Yoon Se Ah and Julien Kang first met on ‘We Got Married’ on August 18th of last year. Real-life couple Jo Jung Chi and Jung In will be the next couple to join the show.

ZE:A‘s Kwanghee surprised SECRET‘s Sunhwa with his hilariously ridiculous behavior once again on ‘We Got Married‘.
 
On the March 2nd episode, the couple got into the topic of kissing. Kwanghee told Sunhwa about his first kiss, “My first love had a sweet fragrance. It’s a sweetness I can’t describe. My first kiss with my first love is the longest I’ve ever had. We kissed for 1 hour.”

Jinwoon gives Go Jun Hee a ‘thank you hug’ on ‘We Got Married’




Jinwoon and Go Jun Hee had their first hug on ‘We Got Married‘, but it may just have been a ‘thank you’ according to the 2AM member.
 
The March 2nd show continued their cooking lessons from last week. Though Go Jun Hee insisted that she would rather not cook, she helped Jinwoon out with his dish. The idol then suddenly hugged Go Jun Hee, who was surprised and responded with, “Are you hugging me?”
 
Jinwoon claimed it was just a thank you hug, saying, “It wasn’t an embrace. It was my way of saying thank you. Anyone can hug a person when they feel thankful, right?”
 
On the other hand, Go Jun Hee expressed, “If he’s going to initiate skinship like this, he could kiss me and say, ‘It was just a kiss out of happiness.’ I’m a bit confused.”
