'Real Men' producer reveals that Henry was completely clueless about the show

MBC's 'Real Men' featured new member Super Junior-M's Henry for the first time recently!  In relation to this, Producer Kim Min Jong spilled the beans on how they came to choose Henry in the first place to experience Korean military life.

The producer told Star News on February 17, "I am thankful that people had fun watching the new members.  Thinking that the most important aspect of the program is the participants' characters,  we went through great pains while casting new members.

"In the case of Henry, we met for the first time and was interviewing him and he seemed to know nothing about the Korean military.  We ended up casting him because of his carefree personality and honest charms."

He continued, "I personally went to the filming and he really came there not knowing anything.  What was worse, Henry appeared to have thought that it was going to be a program set filming.

"Because the atmosphere of the filming was different from what he thought, the surprised Henry asked the person next to him, 'Please call the manager over.'  Just like that, he engaged in filming without any information at first."

The producer concluded, "In the first episode, Henry greatly distinguished himself, but Park Gun Hyung, K.Will, and Chun Jung Myung also showed a lot of good sides, so look forward to it."

Cute Haru Feels Shy Around G-Dragon?

Who knew that even Haru turns shy in front of G-Dragon?

On the February 16 episode of KBS2TV’s “Superman Returns” titled “If we are together, I am not scared,” the cast members stepped out of their comfort zone and experienced new things.

To support his YG Family members, Tablo and his daughter Haru visited the concert of labelmate Big Bang. However, as the two entered the waiting room backstage, Haru could not hide her shyness and embarrassment when she saw G-Dragon. Seeing the young girl’s reaction, G-Dragon smiled and seemed to consider her actions very cute.

Suddenly, Haru and G-Dragon’s eyes met each other, and Haru quickly turned away to hug her father saying, “I feel shy.” This time, the handsome singer was confused, as Haru was about to burst in tears.

Afterwards, Tablo revealed during an interview with the producers, “Haru acts shy whenever she looks at Jiyong’s solo music videos. Her face turns red. Seems like GD belongs to the category of men in Haru’s opinion.”

T.O.P Chosen as Most Wanted Boyfriend, Followed by G-Dragon, Im Siwan and Others

BIGBANG’s T.O.P was chosen as “Most Wanted Boyfriend” on Mnet’s “Super Idol Chart Show.”

The Valentine’s Day episode, which aired on February 14, revealed the rankings of idols stars on the “Most Wanted Boyfriend” list.

The MCs, Super Junior‘s Ryeowook and Beast‘s Dong Woon, were given hints to guess the number 1 idol. Their first hint given was comments from survey participants, “I picked him as the ‘Perfect Male Idol Boyfriend’ because if we’re together, I get to feel superior too,” “Because of his stunning visuals, we’ll receive attention wherever we go,” and “He has looks that I want to show off to everyone.”

While all the MCs could guess from the first hint was that the idol had good looks, the second hint gave everything away. Pictures of towers and pagodas (“tab” in Korean) were displayed, and the MCs were able to deduce the answer.

T.O.P emerged first among those surveyed, winning 17.6% of votes. He received overwhelming support from females in their early 20s.

Fellow BIGBANG member  G-Dragon came in second (15.9%), followed by ZE:A‘s Im Siwan, Beast‘s Yoon Doo Joon, ZE:A’s Park Hyung Sik, CNBlue‘s Kang Min Hyuk, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, Infinite’s L, B1A4‘s Baro and TVXQ‘s Yunho.

“Super Idol Chart Show” is a chart show that allows survey participants (300 subjects from 15-34) to rank idols according to different topics. It aims to share idol entertainment news in a new and interesting format.

Based on the topic, ten idols will be selected for the first round, and then further research is done to determine the order of the rankings. In the process, the MCs will be given hints that will allow them to guess the identity of each idol.

Mnet’s new program “Super Idol Chart Show” is hosted by Super Junior’s Ryeowook and Beast’s Son Dong Woon. It airs every Friday at 5:00 PM KST on Mnet.

Henry Brings Laughter to His First Experience of the Korean Military in “Real Men”

Super Junior-M’s Henry had his first experience as a soldier in the Korean military, and it was quite hilarious to watch. On February 16, Henry joined the cast of MBC’s “Real Men,” along with singer K.Will, and actors Chun Jung Myung and Park Gun Hyung. However, unlike the typical soldier, Henry showed his goofy side from the very beginning. From the start, the Super Junior-M member entered the military training site with a huge suitcase, seeming as if he was ready to go on a camping trip. When the singer responded with unexpected answers during the physical examination process, the army doctor expressed, “I felt like he was an elementary school student who was 5-7years old.”

Yet that wasn’t all because when it came time to evaluate the new soldiers’ personal belongings, it was noted that Henry brought along his laptop, height elevating shoe pads, a personal pillow, and his sunglasses, surprising the drill instructors. Although the singer’s first experience wasn’t perfect, many viewers kept in mind that Henry was a foreigner who was raised in Canada, making the singer’s cluelessness understandable and hilarious.

Henry, K.Will, Chun Jung Myung, and Park Gun Hyung are all new members of “Real Men,” replacing previous members Jang Hyuk, Ryu Soo Young, and Son Jin Young. The four new members will continue with the remaining members, Kim Soo Ro, Sam Hemington, and Park Hyung Sik.

ZE:A’s Im Siwan Once Again Shows His Gentlemanly Manners on “Law of the Jungle”

Previously we reported on how ZE:A’s Im Siwan had shown his manners to the female member, Ye Ji Won, on SBS’ “Law of the Jungle.” Well, the manner wasn’t a onetime deal as the singer continued to show his protective side towards the actress.  On the February 14 episode of “Law of the Jungle,” the members had to experience 50 hours in the Jungle without their original leader, Kim Byung Man. As the other members grouped together to explore and hunt in the jungle, Im Siwan continued to stay by Ye Ji Won’s side.  Feeling bad for possibly burdening the singer, the actress said, “Siwan, if you want to follow the other hyungs (older males) to go ocean hunting, tell me whenever.”

However, Im Siwan displayed his caring nature as he responded, “I like going out there, but I feel like if I go and come back, you won’t be here. I like being with you.” The response by the singer showed his bodyguard presence over Ye Ji Won. The actress expressed, “Although I look like a jokester, I don’t like giving other people burdens.”

Despite the actress initially feeling bad for possibly holding back the singer, Im Siwan’s protective nature conveyed his gentleman-like manners. “Law of the Jungle” is currently broadcasting the Micronesia editions.

“We Got Married” Wooyoung and Park Se Young’s Male/Female Role Reversal?

The man obsesses over small things, and the girl doesn’t know what to do when the guy acts cute. It’s as if the typical male and female roles have been reversed in the Wooyoung - Park Se Young couple on “We Got Married,” bringing a new appeal to the couple.

On the February 15 episode of MBC’s “We Got Married,” Jang Wooyoung and Park Se Young brainstormed ideas and started working on furniture for their new home.

On the episode, Wooyoung and Park Se Young were at dinner and Wooyoung wanted to know what his name was saved as on Park Se Young’s phone, so he called her. Looking at her phone lying face up on the table, he saw that he was saved as “Jang Wooyoung Yi.” (‘Yi’ is a common addition on the name of someone close, most of the time a friend or someone younger, and is usually said without the last name, i.e. ‘Wooyoung Yi.’) At this, Wooyoung pretended to be a little upset, saying, “What is ‘Jang Wooyoung Yi?’ Is it a four-character idiom? I saved your name as Se Young <3” But, in reality, he was happy because now he had something on Park Se Young, who had given him a hard time because he didn’t wear their couple bracelet. Later, in his interview, Wooyoung showed his embarrassment at having been glad that he found something to pick o nPark  Se Young about.

Later, the couple went to a furniture store, where they could make furniture themselves, and different from how he was at dinner, Wooyoung showed a much more masculine and protective side of himself. When Park Se Young nearly hurt herself with a power tool, Wooyoung said, worried, “Are you out of your mind?” and later, after getting over the surprise of his own reaction, asked if she was okay. Working on the sofa for their living room, Wooyoung told Park Se Young that, because of her cold and the sawdust and debris in the air, she should take it easy and not breathe through her mouth as much, which really impressed Park Se Young. She said in her interview that she really likes when guys seem quiet and like they’re not paying attention, but still show that they care and are thinking about her with passing comments. 

Park Se Young also showed off her own character. Realizing that Wooyoung’s hairstyle is always changing, she commented on it, and said that she liked the hairstyle that day the best. And she then asked if he noticed anything different about her. Completely taken aback, Wooyoung vaguely mumbled some answers, and somehow got it right, saying that she cut her hair and darkened the tone of her hair.

Moreover, Park  Se Young surprisingly couldn’t resist Wooyoung’s cuteness. The two were talking about how they might arrange pictures in their new home, and Wooyoung said he wanted to display the photos in a variety of manners, at which she told him to just pick one thing to do. Wooyoung then made a cute whiny sound, pouted his lips, and made puppy dog eyes. Park Se Young had no idea what to do, and immediately caved. She later revealed that she absolutely can’t refuse it when people act cute. 

It was like the two had reversed their male and female roles. But, it’s not a complete reversal. Park Se Young is outgoing and has the atmosphere of the older woman, but has a clumsy side, as well. Wooyoung acts really cute and tries hard to please Park Se Young, but, on the other hand, has a very tough and masculine side. 

In other news, Yoon Han and Lee So Yeon’s couple footage was cut from the episode due to the Sochi Winter Olympics, and Jung Joon Young and Jung Yoo Mi were shown on their vacation on Jeju Island in Korea.

Actress Kang Hye Jung Says She Wants to Meet Big Bang’s T.O.P and Makes Tablo Jealous

Actress Kang Hye Jung evoked envy from husband Tablo after revealing she wanted to meet Big Bang’s T.O.P.

On the February 16 broadcast of KBS 2TV’s “Superman Returns,” Tablo and his daughter Haru visited the members of Big Bang at their concert.

On the show, Tablo’s wife Kang Hye Jung remarked, “I want to meet Big Bang oppas too.” Tablo heard this and asked, “Which Big Bang oppa?” She answered, “T.O.P hyung,” as she smiled brightly.

During an interview on the show, Kang Hye Jung said, “I really want to go to the Big Bang concert. Why did you guys have to go to the Big Bang concert without me? You might see me at the concert selling glow sticks,” and created a wave of laughter.

Not only is Kang Hye Jung a fan of a Big Bang member, but her daughter, Haru, is one too. During her visit to the Big Bang’s concert, Haru expressed shyness around G-Dragon, causing confusion for the idol.

Super Junior to Deliver a Lecture on Hallyu at the National Assembly of Korea

Super Junior, leader of Hallyu, will be giving a special lecture at the National Assembly of Korea.

According to an announcement made by the Secretariat of the National Assembly on February 17, the male group members will participate in the sixth part of “The National Assembly Top Class Culture and Arts Course” as guest lecturers. The event will be held on February 20 at 7.30pm, and the audience will be consist of members of the National Assembly.

The members selected to represent the group and SM Entertainment are Shindong, Eunhyuk, and Sungmin. Titled “The world is influenced by K-Pop,” the three talented speakers will be lecturing on entering the global market and maintaining the state in the future for one and half hours.

A representative of Super Junior commented, “As Koreans engaged in the mainstream culture business, they will share their personal feelings and experiences.”

Jung Jin Suk, the Secretary-General of the National Assembly, revealed, “It will be a good opportunity for us in the National Assembly to communicate with young artists, who are the forerunners of spreading awareness of Korea around the world, and work together in a passionate manner to develop future vision.”

Since debuting in 2005, Super Junior has been known as a well-rounded male group with multitalented members. They are one of the most popular idol groups outside Korea, and some of their hit songs include “U,” “Sorry Sorry,” “Mr. Simple,” and “Sexy, Free and Single.”

Super Junior’s Ryeowook Starts Being Lovesick Over Henry

Super Junior‘s Ryeowook proved to be a die-hard fan for fellow team member, Henry, for his appearance on “Real Men.”

On February 16, Ryeowook tweeted a couple of messages about his bandmate. He started off with “I am now starting to be lovesick over Henry. Henry~~~ ah, so funny.”

Ryeowook also retweeted someone who praised Henry’s variety show appearance and said, “Chocolate bar Henry. Isn’t he amazing? Henry’s charm is exploding. Go succeed, Henry!”

In the “Real Men” broadcast, Henry got caught eating a chocolate bar that he brought from home, which is against the rules in the Korean army. 

Henry has been the talk of the nation with his first appearance on the Korean army reality show “Real Men” due to his free-spirited innocence and complete lack of knowledge and experience of the Korean army. Henry is a Chinese-Canadian, who debuted under Super Junior-M in 2007.

TVXQ’s Yunho Looks Back on His Days as a Trainee on “Determination: 10,000 Hours”

TVXQ’s U-know Yunho recently looked back at his old audition and trainee videos. 

On the SBS special “Determination: 10,000 Hours” which aired on February 16, EXO’s Kai, SHINee’s Taemin, and TVXQ’s Yunho were featured as K-Pop’s hardest working artists/dancers, and we took a look into their secrets for success.

On the show, Yunho reminisced about his old trainee days, watching some old practice and audition videos. He said, looking at his younger self and laughing, “His eyes look like he’s about ready to eat someone up.” As if talking about someone completely different, he said, “He really tried hard. He tried hard, for sure, but…” Watching an old dance video, Yunho continued, still laughing, “I was really bad… I was worse than I thought.”  

“It was like meeting my younger self; I feel proud, and at the same time a little emotional, too.”

Yunho also talked about how he was awarded a prize for the ‘hardest worker,’ chosen by his fellow trainees at SM, for which he received a CD player. He said, “I practiced with it so much I eventually had to use a rubber band to hold it together.”

"Superman Returns" Jang Hyun Sung Picks Haru Over Chu Sarang as His Future Daughter-In-Law

Actor Jang Hyun Sung who is very much popular these days due to his appearances on the adored KBS 2TV show “Superman Returns” picked Tablo and Kang Hye Jung’s daughter Lee Haru to be his future daughter-in-law.

On the KBS Cool FM “Jo Jung Chi and Harim’s 2 o’clock” radio show that was broadcast on February 17, when DJ Jo Jung Chi asked the actor, “Haru versus Chu Sarang. Who would you pick be your daughter-in-law,” Jang Hyun Sung responded, “That’s hard. For Haru, when you see her for real, you’ll be really surprised. She has these huge eyes that seems to melt anyone who looks at them directly. As for Sarang, her cuteness and charms are just to die for.”

After thinking for a while, the actor continued, “I think I will pick Haru because she is better at speaking Korean. Also, I don’t want to lose at an arm-wrestling game against my daughter-in-law’s father. ”
