Jang Geun Suk Will be a “Pretty Man” for New Drama
 
Actor Jang Geun Suk will be returning to the small screen in a year with the lead male role in the new drama “Pretty Man.”
 
“Pretty Man” will be the drama version of the original manhwa written by Choi Kye Young. It is about how Dokko Ma Te, the man with “the prettiest face in the world,” finds love.
Jang Geun Suk’s agency commented, “[Jang Geun Suk] decided on his appearance because he liked the character of Dokko Ma Te. He will do his best to portary this unique character. Please look forward to it.”
Pretty Man” will be produced by the team Group8 that also produced “Boys Over Flowers” and “Goong.” It will be written by Yoo Young Ah who wrote the movie “Miracle in Cell No.7.”
 
A source from Group8 stated, “We thought of Jang Geun Suk for the leading role from the start of planning ‘Pretty Man.’ We are working hard with Jang Geun Suk, discussing the character and the overall project, to increase the quality of the project. Jang Geuk Suk plans to show his experienced acting as a actor with 21-year career.”
 
“Pretty Man” is expected to finish casting and premiere later this year.

The stars of your favorite dramas suffered the Monday blues, literally, by bringing viewers to tears whether they were kicking off their week with 'Jang Ok Jung', 'Shark' or 'Book of the House of Gu'. There were a lot of good options, but the majority of viewers in Korea tuned in to 'Book of the House of Gu' as the historical drama maintained its spot at #1.
 
According to AGB Nielsen Media Research, the June 17th episode of 'Book of the House of Gu' achieved a 18.6% viewer rating, which is a 0.3 increase form its previous viewer rating of 18.3%.
 
SBS' 'Jang Ok Jung' has been garnering a mediocre viewer rating as it continued in 2nd place with a 10.2% viewer rating. Meanwhile, KBS 2TV's 'Shark' still could not manage to get out of its slump by achieving a 7.9% viewer rating.

On the recent episode of SBS’s “Barefoot Friends,” which was aired on June 16, the members and Lee Hyori went camping to Jiri Mountain.
 
During the episode when Kim Hyun Joong asked to pick between Uee and Lee Hyori as an ideal type, actor Yoon Shi Yoon chose Uee without hesitation. Kim Hyun Joong stated that Lee Hyori was his type.
 
Kim Hyun Joong also asked Yoon Shi Yoon about his last relationship. Yoon Shi Yoon asnwered, “It has been well over a year since I had a girlfriend.” When Kim Hyun Joong asked if he still loved his last girlfriend, Yoon Shi Yoon explained, “No. I just hope she is happy.”
 
Kim Hyun Joong then teased Yoon Shi Yoon as he said, “It’s that female celebrity, right?” Yoon Shi Yoon pleaded jokingly, “I really hope they make sure to put a caption that says that my last girlfriend was not a celebrity.”

Actor Choi Jin Hyuk, who has become popular for his role as the beastly spirit Wol Ryung from the drama “Gu Family Book, had a Coming Soon Interview (C.S.I.) with Loen Entertainment about his upcoming song “Best Wish to You” for the drama’s OST. The video was shared on LOEN Entertainment’s official YouTube channel with English subtitles.
 
In the interview the actor talks about “Best Wishes to You” and what made him to sing a song for the OST. The handsome actor also spoke about his ideal type, his favorite line in the drama, and “Wol Ryung Fever.” He even revealed what his go-to song for noraebang is. 
 
“Best Wishes to You” from the “Gu Family Book” OST will be released on June 18.

Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon, Yuri, and Shinhwa's Minwoo will be 'dance masters' for Mnet's new dance survival show, 'Dancing 9'.
 
 
As all Shinhwa fans know, Minwoo's been dancing since he was a little boy, and is easily one of the best dancers in the industry. Additionally, Girls' Generation's Yuri and Hyoyeon are also well-known superstar dancers.
 
 
One of the reasons why they were chosen as the judges for the show is because the three of them had such a big role in the popularity of Hallyu, mostly through their dancing. The language they used to spread all over the world, and their experience is expected to become a big strength for the contestants.
 
 
Minwoo said, "Meeting fans of various countries all over the world for 15 years as a member of Shinhwa made me realize that dance really was a genre that overcomes age and gender. I really like the premise of 'Dancing 9', and I was happy to agree when I was asked to be a master. Before I'm a singer, I'm a man who loves dance. With that mindset, I'm so excited to meet people who love dance. I'm really looking forward to it".
 
 
The girls also added, "We saw firsthand that people all over the world become passionate through just dance from our performances in Asia and Europe. We really felt the wonderful power of dance and its rippling effects. One June 17, she held her comeback showcase for "A Good Girl" at the Seoul Olleh Square Dream Hall. During a Q&A session, the MC asked her, "Who do you want to be with if you were to appear on 'We Got Married'?"
 
 
She confessed, "I never really thought about it. But I think I would want to be on the show with Key sunbae from SHINee. My ideal type is people who look pretty when they smile and Key sunbae looks really nice when he smiles."

The mother of MBLAQ's Mir revealed a photo of her son when he used to be overweight.
 
 
On the June 16 episode of KBS 2TV's 'Mamma Mia', Mir was a guest on the program with his mother. MC Park Mi Sun asked Mir's mother, "I heard that when Mir was younger, he was overweight and shy." Mir's mother made everyone laugh when she stated, "He had bigger breasts than Lee Young Ja".
 
 
MC Lee Young Ja quickly protested, "This is average! You're too much", and Park Mi Sun added, "She's a little wide, but not big", making everyone laugh again.
 
 
Mir's mother then revealed a past photo of him, claiming, "He actually came out thin in this picture", surprising everyone.

Sunggyu is the 'King of Fighters' of INFINITE?

 
 
It looks like the reason Sunggyu is INFINITE's leader isn't just because of his age.
 
 
The INFINITE members were the featured guests on a recent episode of KBS 2TV's 'Mamma Mia'. On the program, they were asked, "Have you guys ever fought each other before?". Sunggyu admitted, "We've fought hard about 10 times."
 
 
When asked who was a good fighter, he picked Hoya and said, "This kid is pretty good at fighting", and then pointed to Sungjong and said, "This kid kind of sucks at fighting".

Sunggyu then said, "Woohyun and Sungyeol fought once, but Woohyun won. I fought once with Woohyun, and I won", ranking himself as the King of Fighting in INFINITE.
 
 
He also added, "You win when one person loses their fighting spirit, or when we just don't want to fight anymore".
