SHINee’s Onew Updates Fans with a Handwritten Letter and Responds to “Ice Bucket Challenge” Nomination

Male group SHINee‘s leader Onew has updated his fans about his current condition and participated in the “Ice Bucket Challenge” in a meaningful way.

On August 24, the idol shared a handwritten letter through his personal Twitter account. The message says:

“Hello, this is Onew.

I am participating in the Ice Bucket Challenge after being nominated by my friends actor Seo Ha Joon, soccer player Lee Bum Young, and JACE‘s vocal Seung Hyun.

Due to being in the midst of recovering, I am greeting you with a donation and a handwritten letter instead, but I am glad to participate in the campaign, even simply like this.

I hope that my feelings are delivered, and that everyone fighting against the disease will stay strong and happy.”

While everyone nominated is supposed to respond to the challenge in under 24 hours by shooting a video pouring a bucket filled with water on his/her head, Onew decided to carefully donate $100 to the ALS Association. His warmhearted greeting has delighted both fans of SHINee and supporters of those fighting against ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

In June this year, Onew underwent a throat surgery and has since been taking a break from all official activities.

Joo Won Reveals “I Want to Age Like DiCaprio” Behind the Scenes of InStyle

Actor Joo Won recently modeled for the first issue of star and fashion magazine “InStyle Men.” The concept of the shoot was getting ready to go out while welcoming a relaxed morning. It took place in a hotel suite, and accentuated his sweet and smooth charms. The way he touched up his own hairstyle and naturally getting ready made it seem like a scene from a movie.

In an interview that followed, Joo Won was asked about how he maintained his good skin. He replied, “Until three years ago I only put on baby lotion, but people around me were very shocked by that fact. Now I put in some more care. Before I go to sleep I put on some skin lotion and mist after I wash my face. But in the morning I make sure I follow the steps of the care kit.” He continued, “After 10 years I want to age like Leonardo DiCaprio. He used to be the most handsome man in Hollywood, but now I like the way he changed himself in order to portray the roles that match his age.”

So Ji Sub Opens Up about Marriage

Actor So Ji Sub revealed his thoughts on marriage.

During an interview with the Chinese media, So Ji Sub revealed his thoughts on his 18-year long career and his future plans. On releasing his latest hip-hop single “18 Years,” he said, “as an actor, I didn’t have many opportunities to interact with my fans. I wanted to express my experiences in a different way.”

When he was asked about whether he had any plans for marriage, he gave an honest answer, admitting that as a 37-year-old unmarried actor, he gets a lot of questions about marriage.

“To be honest, I wanted to get married before I hit 40, but since I don’t have much time left, I think it’ll be difficult. I personally believe that once you start seeing someone, you have to see them for at least a year before getting married. I think it’ll be hard for me to get married before 40.”

When asked about his ideal partner, he said, “Someone who is considerate and understanding of my work. In the beginning they all seem to think they can understand my profession, but I think most people find it difficult. Even when I want to see them, I often can’t go see them because of work.”

So Ji Sub recently completed his Asia tour through six countries, meeting fans in each country. He will complete his “So Ji Sub 1st Asia Tour” series with a last fan meeting in Seoul on August 30.

tvN Plans to Air Remake of Japan’s “Liar Game” in October

“Liar Game” joins “Tomorrow Cantabile” (Nodame Cantabile) in the list of Japanese series that will be remade in Korea this year.

According to a statement made by a drama representative to iSPlus on August 26, the Korean adaptation of Japan’s “Liar Game” is set to air on cable channel tvN this October.

This information was confirmed with a representative from CJ E&M who said, “It is true that it will be completed by October. There will be a total of 10 episodes and it will follow ‘Valid Love.‘ ‘Liar Game’ is a popular series not only in Japan but in Korea as well so we plan to cast good actors. After finishing the casting work, we plan to begin filming next month.”

The remake of “Liar Game” will be written by Yoo Yong Jae of MBC’s “Time Between Dog and Wolf” and directed by PD Kim Hong Seon, who was in charge of OCN’s “Hero” and SBS’ “Warrior Baek Dong Soo.”

“Liar Game” is a live action adaptation of Kaitani Shinobu’s manga of the same title. The manga, which was first serialized in 2005 and was adapted into a TV series on 2007, is about Nao Kanzaki, a college student who’s honest to a fault. By a twist of fate, she got involved in a fictional “Liar Game Tournament” wherein contestants are encouraged to cheat and lie. The live action series had a second season aired on 2009. It also spawned two live action films that were shown in 2010 and 2012.

INFINITE Will Be Performing at A-Nation For the First Time

Boy group INFINITE will be performing for the first time in A-Nation Island and Stadium Festival, to be held at Japan’s Ajinomoto Stadium situated in Tokyo.

INFINITE released their album “Last Romeo” in Japan last July, and the album peaked at number two on the Japanese Oricon Weekly Single chart. The inclusion of INFINITE in A-Nation, which largely features only top artists, is a testament to the group’s popularity. Furthermore, the boy group will be performing on the last day of the festival, August 31, while BIGBANG and TVXQ will be performing on August 29 and 30, respectively.

This will be a major achievement for INFINITE as it will be their first time performing for the famous A-Nation Festival.

2PM member Nichkhun has ventured out to the world of fashion by launching his very own bag line under accessory brand rosa.K.

On August 26, numerous celebrities gathered under the same roof to celebrate the launch of Nichkhun’s line at the Lotte Hotel located in Jamsil, Seoul. Despite this being Nichkhun’s debut collection as a fashion designer, rosa.K expressed their satisfaction with the turnout and the young talent’s work.

The brand’s main designer revealed her thoughts on the collaboration, “For this F/W season, we worked together with Nichkhun and prepared this event to showcase the outcome. Nichkhun said his ideal design is practical, great for daily wear, and a bag you want to use,” and explained why they started the experiment, “We believe our design aesthetics match.”

The idol expressed his humble opinion, “It is still early to call me a designer. Due to lack of time, I could only offer ideas, but looking at the line, I can see my style showing through.” Nichkhun also revealed his favorite bag to be Dave, and explained, “I like practical and large bags.”

Known for his great style sense, the idol participated in designing three bags: Dusting, Lawnick, and Dave.
