Lee Seung Gi Confesses He Is 80 Percent like His Character in Movie “Today’s Love”

Lee Seung Gi Confesses He Is 80 Percent like His Character in Movie “Today’s Love”

During the press conference for the upcoming movie “Today’s Love” (a.k.a “Love Forecast”) Lee Seung Gi revealed that he is 80 percent like his character in the movie, and that he believes loving someone for 18 years is very possible.

The press conference for “Today’s Love” was taken place on January 8 at Seoul Wang Ship-ri’s CGV Theater. Director Park Jin Pyo attended the conference along with the main cast Moon Chae Won and Lee Seung Gi.

The movie is about a relationship of two young people, Jun Su (played by Lee Seung Gi) and Hyun Woo (played by Moon Chae Won), who have complicated feelings for each other but do not define the relationship for 18 years.

In the press conference, which began after viewing of the movie, Lee Seung Gi started by saying, “Because it was my first movie, I was very focused on the film as if I was watching a different person on screen.” When asked about his opinion on Jun Su, the character he played, he said, “[Jun Su] does not have a complicated personality. He’s very simple minded. He is honest about his feelings, which makes him naïve.” He then added, “That sort of people are realistic and usually the kind ones. Instead of simply making him a gentleman though, I tried to be faithful to what he would have felt in the 18 years of friendship with Hyun Woo. I think I am about 80 percent similar to him”

When asked about how a person could love someone for 18 years, he answered, “It is hard to like just one person for 18 years, which oddly made [the character] more realistic to me. One may have feelings for other people from time to time, but overall, I think it is possible for a person to want to care for someone for 18 years. It’s very possible for a man to have “something” going on with just one person for 18 years.”

Meanwhile, the movie “Today’s Love” will be released on January 14

Jang Geun Suk on Filming “Three Meals a Day”: “I Am Now a Dishwashing Champion”

‘Prince of Asia’ Jang Geun Suk confessed that living on a remote island with his acting seniors Cha Seung Won and Yoo Hae Jin was far from a relaxing holiday.

From December 19 to 23, the three stars filmed PD Na Young Suk‘s latest variety show “Three Meals a Day – Fishing Village Edition” on Manjae-do, which is a six-hour ferry ride away from the coast. The second shoot took place in the beginning of this month. The actors were challenged to prepare all of their daily meals themselves using ingredients found on the tiny islet.

PD Na Young Suk revealed to Newsen after wrapping up the first shoot, “As Cha Seung Won and Yoo Hae Jin share a long history together, they were extremely comfortable with each other also at the filming location. Actually, they bickered about everything and got annoyed with each other.”

“Jang Geun Suk, who got caught up in the middle, could not really do anything about it, and he had no choice but to deal with the physical and emotional labor,” the PD talked about the hardships that the group’s youngest faced.

Jang Geun Suk himself shared his thoughts with Newsen on January 7. He said, “The shoot was a lot of fun. It was cold and the wind was strong, which made everything more tiring, but mentally, I felt very comfortable.”

“Although it was physically demanding to follow orders from Cha Seung Won and Yoo Hae Jin, my mind was at ease. Filming ‘Three Meals a Day’ has turned me into a rice cooking and dishwashing champion,” the actor revealed, evoking laughter with his honesty.

The pilot episode of “Three Meals a Day – Fishing Village Edition” will air on January 16.

Breakup of Girl Group Jewelry Confirmed

Breakup of Girl Group Jewelry Confirmed

Jewelry has announced that it is breaking up after 14 years. The breakup of the group was confirmed by multiple sources on January 8, who cited expiration of members’ contracts as the primary cause.

Of the group’s most recent four members (Kim Eunjung, Ha Jooyeon, Park Saemi, Kim Yewon), Eunjung was first to leave in March of last year order to pursue a career in acting. Jooyeon then left in November following the expiration of her contract and, most recently, Saemi decided not to re-sign her contract with the group’s label, Star Empire Entertainment, effectively ending any possibility that the group could be revived. After some deliberation, the Star Empire has decided not to maintain Jewelry as a group going forward.

According to one source, “The decision to let Jewelry break up couldn’t have been easy for Star Empire. But the decision to let the group and its members go makes the most sense considering the diverging paths of the label and the group’s individual members. It was a very respectful parting of ways.”

Jewelry first debuted in 2001 with their first album, “Discovery.” At the time, it consisted of members Junga, Jihyun, Yoojin, and Eunmi. Its second album, “Again,” which featured hits “I Really Like You” and “Super Star,” took the group to new levels of popularity.

After the departure of members Jihyun and Mina, Jooyeon and Eunjung joined the group in 2007 and, in 2008, the group released the smash-hit “One More Time,” which won them a “Golden Disk Award” that year. By 2011, however, the group had to replace two more departing members, Junga and Inyoung, and found itself unable to maintain its previous levels of popularity. After releasing the single “Hot & Cold” last year, the group’s members began to focus on their own solo projects.

There seem to be no hard feelings about the break-up, however, as some of the group’s former and current members recently got together to commemorate their time together with Jewelry” This photo of their meeting together was uploaded to Inyoung’s instagram, and shows previous members Inyoung and Junga along with the group’s most recent members Saemi, Jooyeon, Eunjung, and Yewon.
