Suzy Experiences Wardrobe Malfunction at Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards

suzy

miss A‘s Suzy suffered a wardrobe malfunction while performing “Hush” at the 3rd Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards.

Held at Seoul Olympic Park Olympic Sports Stadium on February 12 at 7pm, miss A was one of the performers at the large music event. The girl group was the opening act for the second part of the show, and the girls entered wearing beautiful white outfits.

However, just around a minute into their performance, Suzy begun to reach for the neck strap of her halterneck dress. Seems like the decorative and metallic neck piece had unfastened, causing her to worry about the dress falling off.

She continued to perform despite the unfortunate wardrobe malfunction, and tried to do her best while holding her dress up with her hands. Despite the situation being a very uncomfortable one, Suzy managed to focus on her performance, earning praises for her professional attitude.

Luckily nothing worse happened!

Suzy makes Jun Ji Hyun's character jealous with her cameo on 'You Who Came From The Stars'

SBS aired the highly anticipated episode of 'You Who Came From The Stars' with the special cameo by Suzy!  She got to reunite with her 'Dream High' co-star and love interest Kim Soo Hyun, which in turn made Jun Ji Hyun's character very jealous.  The whole scene greatly alluded to the drama 'Dream High.'

In the scene, Do Min Joon (Kim Soo Hyun) kept trying to talk to Chun Song Yi (Jun Ji Hyun) to no avail as he was ignored and avoided; therefore, he went to sit at a bench where he encountered Go Hye Mi (Suzy), who called him professor.  She turned out to be one of his past students, not to mention the character's name was the very same from 'Dream High.'

She said, "Professor.  Do you recognize me?  I'm Go Hye Mi.  I was in your class last year and even the year before that.. I told you that you looked really similar to my ex-boyfriend Sam Dong."  For those of you who did not watch 'Dream High,' Sam Dong was the name of Kim Soo Hyun's character!  She continued, "I purposely handed in a blank exam to get an F and retake the course, but you don't remember me?"

Do Min Joon said, "I think I remember.." so Go Hye Mi replied, "I'm disappointed.  At that time, I almost got kicked out of my house because of that F.. Maybe.. it's because I got prettier than last year.. I lost a lot of my baby fat since then and hear a lot that I got more mature."  She even asked for his number!

Chun Song Yi, who saw this, became green with envy and purposely went to Do Min Joon's side to say, "Do Min Joon, didn't you say you had something to tell me?  I have time right now," to viewers' amusement.

Make sure you watch the episode to see for yourself!

SM and YG Become First Entertainment Companies to Join the Federation of Korean Industries

SM and YG Become First Entertainment Companies to Join the Federation of Korean Industries

SM Entertainment and YG Entertainment have become the first entertainment companies to join the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI).

On February 11, FKI held a board meeting at the FKI Tower Conference Center in Yeouido, Seoul. During the meeting, they announced that 54 companies, including SM and YG, have been approved as members of the respected organization.

Considering that the number of new members has usually been between 8 and 9, the requirements for applying have seemingly been lowered, but despite this, SM and YG were the only entertainment companies to make the final cut, confirming that it is still challenging for firms representing the music industry to join.

SM and YG are also both listed on Korea’s stock market KOSDAQ. Homes to Hallyu leaders BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, f(x), EXO, PSY, Big Bang, 2NE1, Epik High, and others, the two companies are known for their global success and world tours.

A representative of FKI commented, “We will be open to member applications from companies of new fields in the future as well, and we are planning to reflect the voices of diverse firms.”

KBS Bans All H.O.T Songs From Broadcasts, Including “Candy”

KBS Bans All H.O.T Songs From Broadcasts, Including “Candy”

TV audiences will no longer be able to hear H.O.T songs on KBS, after a network decision to ban all H.O.T songs.

KBS has deemed that all H.O.T songs, including “Candy” and “Warrior’s Descendant,” are unfit for broadcast, and reclassified them as prohibited songs.

This follows after H.O.T member Tony Ahn was charged for online illegal gambling last year, evoking much public criticism. KBS has decided to place a temporary ban on Tony Ahn appearing on broadcasts, and this extends to videos and songs in which he is featured as well.

He was charged, along with other celebrities such as Lee Su Geun and Tak Jae Hoon, of illegally gambling large sums of money and received a six month prison sentence and one year of probation. The three had admitted to habitual illegal gambling since 2008, bets which totaled hundreds of millions in Korean won.

This means Songs such as “Candy,” a Valentine’s Day favorite, “Happiness,” “Hope” and “We are the Future” won’t be heard on KBS until the ban on Tony Ahn is lifted.

KBS ruled that because “his illegal and immoral actions caused public criticism, we have decided to ban (Tony Ahn) from appearing on broadcasts.” The network stated that a special committee would be called “more specifically, in cases of ‘evasion of military service,’ ‘habitual use of drugs or smoking marijuana,’ ‘fraud, theft, gambling,’ ‘violence or sexual harassment,’ ‘other civil or criminal charges’ and ‘disturbing public order and morals.’”

If the committee decides that there is a problem with the figure in question, they can take the following measures depending on the importance of the issue: “recommend broadcast restriction”, “temporarily stop all broadcasts (when facing civil or criminal charges)” or “ban from broadcasts.”
