JYJ Gathers Over 580,000 Line Friends in a Week

JYJ has been meeting fans through yet another social service window.

 

On February 27, JYJ opened up an official account on the messenger service Line, and in just a week managed to gather 70,000 through the Korean service, 250,000 through the Japanese service and 180,000 through the English service. The number of users all add up to a total of about 580,000.

The group has been providing such content as videos from script readings for dramas, photos showing the members practicing for their concert and audio files of the members thanking their fans after a fansigning event.

 

A rep from C-JeS Entertainment commented, “While the official website and Facebook pages are meant to deliver exact information, Line is more friendly as the members can send photos or record audio messages themselves. It′s meaningful that the members can now converse quickly with everyone when the group has been becoming more popular around the world with its world tour.”

 

The JYJ members also said about the service, “These days we′re having fun looking up new functions in Line. We can send audio messages, and we can use a variety of stickers too. Whenever we have overseas schedules, we plan to leave messages on our overseas accounts.”

 

Kim Jae Joong plans to hold a chat event with fans on March 11 to celebrate the opening of JYJ′s Line account and Kim Jae Joong′s Asia tour.

B.A.P’s ‘One Shot’ Gets Reviewed in Swedish Metro

B.A.P’s One Shot has been featured in the Swedish edition of the newspaper, Metro.

On March 7’s publication of Metro, B.A.P’s One Shot was reviewed by the newspaper’s music critic, Peter Lindhom, who praised B.A.P for its transformation from cute, boyfriend material to tough, charismatic men in its most recent release.

 

He called the song to include gangster rap with a tough boyband group that had fans screaming aloud as the members died one by one in the shooting scenes. Lindhom seemed quite fascinated with the music video and gave One Shot four globes out of five in ratings.

 

Although B.A.P has never been to Sweden, the group’s popularity has been growing in the European country, evenplacing second in iTunes Top 10 Hip-Hop Albums chart in Sweden with One Shot.

After the initial report regarding the new KakaoTalk history that Park Si Hoo‘s legal team has submitted, they have revealed the full message history between Park Si Hoo’s hoobae Mr. Kim and the trainee ‘A‘.

 

The history includes the conversations that took place leading up to the incident and the ones that follow after. We have seen bits and pieces of the convo before, but Park Si Hoo’s team has now revealed the full transcription.

 

As mentioned earlier, despite ‘A’ saying that she had cut off contact with ‘K’ and Park Si Hoo after she reported the sexual assault to the police, the history shows otherwise. The conversation takes place even after ‘A’ filed at 8:37 PM on February 15th.

According to the content revealed, the day after the incident on February 15th, ‘K’ sent ‘A’ a message at 8:33 PM saying “call me”, and ‘A’ responded on the same day at 11:57 PM saying, “I’m still not feeling all that great (from drinking) maybe because of that.. I couldn’t be pregnant right.”

 

As the message about the sudden worry of pregnancy comes at 11:57 PM, after ‘A’ had filed her report at 8:37 PM, Park Si Hoo’s legal side pointed out, “‘A’ suddenly worries about pregnancy after she reported him to the police on February 15th around 11 PM, this can be seen as the point where the true intent of ‘A’ comes out.”

 

In addition, as mentioned before, this also goes against ‘A’s claims when she said that she had cut off conversation with Mr. Kim after she had filed a report as it is shown that she continued her conversation even numerous hours after filing.

Little PSY (Hwang Min Woo) Debuts As a Singer!

Do you know who “Little PSY” is? His name is Hwang Minwoo and he makes an appearance in the beginning of the “Gangnam Style” music video. At the time he was only 8 years old. Little PSY first appeared on SBS’ “Star King” back in 2010. Later, he was approached by PSY. Little PSY showed his stuff to the actual PSY and he was impressed. Afterwards, PSY taught Little PSY how to do the horse-riding dance and gave him a pair of sunglasses. The rest is history.

TVXQ hit the top of the Oricon Chart on the very date of the release of their new album

 

TVXQ (YoonHo, Changmin) ranked first once again on the Oricon Chart, Japan’s most prestigious album chart.

 

TVXQ released their sixth studio album, Time, on March 6, and that very same day it ranked at the top of the daily chart by selling 160,719 copies.

 

The group started performing in Japan in 2005, a year after their 2004 debut in Korea, and since then they have topped the Oricon Singles and Album Chart many times, which has greatly contributed to the spread of the Korean Wave in Japan. They again went straight to number one on the Japanese charts this time, which confirms that their popularity has remained unchanged.

 

TVXQ expects a total of about 700,000 fans to attend the concerts in their tour of five of Japan’s biggest venues. The tour begins at the Saitama Super Arena on April 27.

Idols Still in the Game

Teddy

Chances are that if you’re a fan of any of the artists of YG Entertainment then at some point you’ve heard a song that was either written or produced by YG’s main producer, Teddy. His work with Big Bang, Se7en, 2NE1, and more recently Lee Hi have been hugely popular and his music has been instrumental in K-pop’s growth internationally. While Teddy initially gained eternal K-pop glory as the leader of legendary 1TYM, his second career as a music creator has been very low key with little public face time. I for one would love to see more of him but let’s just hope the hits keep on coming.

 

Rain/Tony An/Andy Lee/Eric Mun

While each of the members of this group are still active in the music industry, it’s their roles as producers and company heads that have them on this distinguished list. Rain formed J.Tune Entertainment in 2007 and helped create MBLAQ (J.Tunes has now merged with JYP Entertainment). Tony An created TN Entertainment and while his boy band Smash weren’t so smashing, the company is home to some of Korea’s most popular stars. Andy, under the roof of T.O.P Entertainment produced the successful group Teen Top, and Eric tried his hand at the world of girl groups with Stellar under his Top Class Entertainment and is also co-CEO of Shinhwa Company with Lee Min Woo. There are so many small labels in Korea fighting it out for a small piece of the pie but it’s good to see past idols leveraging their experiences to help the current crop of K-pop stars.

BoA

BoA might not run her own company but she has just as much, if not more influence on today’s K-pop scene than any other former teen idol talent. Ask any current K-pop girl group member (and probably some boy band members as well) and I’ll bet that at least 4 out of 5 will tell you that BoA was a huge inspiration and one of the reasons they wanted to become a singer. She’s only 26 years old but her career has already spanned thirteen years and she’s now the 3rd longest tenured member at SM Entertainment. She broke new ground in Japan and Asia, she’s a fashion leader and trendsetter, and these days she’s molding the next generation of idols on the popular show ‘K-pop Star 2′. She is still a major part of K-pop and I don’t think she’s anywhere near done yet.

 

Kangta

 

Since we just mentioned the 3rd longest tenured member of SM Entertainment, we might as well mention the 2nd and that would be former H.O.T lead singer and current ‘The Voice Korea’ judge, Kangta. Like Boa, I’m sure that his impact on today’s K-pop industry probably started about seventeen years ago as the lead singer of the ever popular H.O.T. Who knows how many singers began their dream while watching Kangta on TV, hoping one day to be on that stage. Kangta also holds a director position at SM Entertainment and while that may or may not be a formality, there’s no question that his influence is still being felt and that his role as a mentor to the younger generation can only be a good thing.

 

Hyori

The princess Lee Hyori. While she has started her own company, Hyori is on this list as a pure entertainer. She is still pushing the boundaries and is always on the leading edge of what’s hot in K-pop. Ever since she dropped her solo album back in 2003 she helped set the bar for all performers, both male and female alike. Her time as a member of Fin.K.L. made her supremely popular but it was her foray as a solo artist that made her a true icon. She became one of the most sought after TV hosts and celebrity spokesperson (sorry HyunA, Hyorin, and Hara… you guys just don’t cut it) and her private life became more interesting than the actual news. While times are changing and there’s a new crop of stars in K-pop, there is no question that Lee Hyori isn’t just in the game, she still is the game.

‘A’ hands over her phone to police, Park Si Hoo’s legal team reveals more KakaoTalk history with ‘A’

 

It’s never a quiet day for Park Si Hoo these days with updates coming in everyday regarding possible new evidence on the alleged sexual assault against trainee ‘A’.

 

It has now been revealed that ‘A’ has submitted her phone over to the police for further investigation and to prove her innocence about purposely framing Park Si Hoo. However, it is expected that most of the relevant KakaoTalk conversation may have already been wiped from her phone. Since Kakao servers only keep a record of conversations for a week before wiping them clean, it’s not clear if there will be much new evidence coming in, but the police say the messages may be recoverable through the phones.

 

On the other hand, Park Si Hoo as well as his hoobae Mr. Kim have not handed over their phones. The actor had said that he will submit his phone as evidence when he attended his investigation at the police station on the 1st, but after discussing with his legal team, he has decided not to do so.

 

His legal team commented, “Both people (Park Si Hoo and Mr. Kim) are celebrities who need to protect their privacy, so we have no plans as of yet to submit their phones to the police.”

 

However, the legal team did present a new piece of evidence – the full KakaoTalk message history between ‘A’ and Mr. Kim.

 

‘A’ originally claimed that she stopped talking to Park Si Hoo and Mr. Kim after she had filed her report against Park Si Hoo to the police on February 15th at 8:37 PM. She also further supported her claims by previously revealing the conversation that took place between her and Mr. Kim up to 4:30 PM of February 15th.

 

However it seems her claims were false as Park Si Hoo’s side has now revealed that there was more conversation following that time period, showing that ‘A’ had continued to hold conversations with Mr. Kim even after she submitted her police report.

 

According to the legal team, they have obtained the full history between ‘A’ and Mr. Kim, showing that the conversation went from 12:55PM February 15th to 12:10 AM February 16th. The newly revealed portion includes the messages:

 

Mr. Kim: Call me (Feb. 15th 8:33 PM)

 

A: I’m still not feeling all that well [from the drinking] (11:57 PM)

 

A: You don’t think I’ll get pregnant from that right

 

Park Si Hoo’s legal team commented, “The messages that ‘A’ revealed are not complete… If you look at the KakaoTalk messages we have revealed, you’ll be able to see that there was no force involved and that Mr. Kim did not even know Park Si Hoo and ‘A’ had sex.”

 

They added, “The time that ‘A’ had reported sexual assault to the police was 8:37 PM.. The newly submitted message histories are evidence that ‘A’ continued to hold conversations like usual with Mr. Kim even after reporting Park Si Hoo to the police.”

'A's friend 'B'

Earlier, it was reported that Park Si Hoo has filed lawsuits against the trainee ‘A’, who had filed against him for sexual assault, ‘B’ (‘A’s friend who told her to request 1 billion KRW from Park Si Hoo), and the CEO of his former agency.

 

It was clear why Park Si Hoo had filed against ‘A’ and ‘B’, but the situation behind the filing against his former agency CEO was vague as Park Si Hoo’s legal team had only mentioned that the CEO had conspired with ‘A’ to frame Park Si Hoo. Through an interview, ‘B’ has now revealed details, giving insight into why Park Si Hoo has filed against the CEO, Mr. Hwang. She has also confessed that she is no longer keeping in touch with ‘A’ because she was previously led to believe in a different situation than the evidence that has been presented.

 

On the issue of Mr. Hwang meeting up with ‘A’, ‘B’ revealed that another label’s CEO, was present where the two met up. ‘B’ said, “I was going to meet up with another label’s CEO when ‘A’ called me and told me she was sexually assaulted by Park Si Hoo. After I heard what ‘A’ said, I was shocked and I told that CEO. He told me, ‘That’s good. Mr. Hwang has been wanting to get back at Park Si Hoo. Let’s take care of this with Mr. Hwang’s help.’” According to ‘B’, Mr. Hwang had not met ‘A’ before the incident, and only met after as the other label’s CEO had set up the meeting between them.

 

She further explained, “Mr. Hwang and ‘A’ met up on the 16th, two days after the event. They met at a coffee shop in Seoul Yeoksam-dong from 10:30 to 11PM. Mr. Hwang told her, ‘Park Si Hoo is the bad guy. Let’s punish him. You must have been hurt’. Then he told her to go report it to the police right away.”

 

‘B’ then continued, “First, ‘A’ said she would get Mr. Hwang’s help. But when the incident spread to the media, she said she would take care of it with her parents and refused Mr. Hwang’s help and even my help. I don’t know what happened between them after that.”

 

If you remember, Mr. Hwang had previously denied all accusations stating that he believes Park Si Hoo and his legal team have a misunderstanding, and that he has always kept a supportive relationship with the actor.

 

When reached for a comment about ‘B’s claims about him meeting up with ‘A’, Mr. Hwang once again denied that he had conspired with ‘A’. He said ”It’s true we met up, but I met her for about 5 minutes to understand what happened with Park Si Hoo and to aid in just settling this issue. I comforted ‘A’ a bit because she showed up trembling. I didn’t do anything ‘B’ said I did. It is 2000% not true.”

 

He further stressed that all he did was try to help ‘A’ and Park Si Hoo reach an agreement, as he added, “I told Park Si Hoo after the other label’s CEO told me about it, and then tried to find to push for a settlement between the two because ‘A’ and Park Si Hoo said different things. ‘B’ is not telling the truth. That other CEO even also said that it is not easy to trust ‘B’ 100%.”

 

When asked why Park Si Hoo sued him, he replied, “I don’t know, either. I think there must have been a misunderstanding as he changed lawyers.”

 

‘B’ also admitted that it was true that she had told ‘A’ to request money from Park Si Hoo. ‘B’, however, also felt that she had been wronged as only a portion of her complete message has been reported.

 

She explained the full context of the situation: “The latter portion [of the KakaoTalk conversation] was cut off. I told her, ‘You have to make things clear. You might look like you don’t really have any thoughts, so at least look sad. This person said he’ll help’. She replied, ‘Okay, I’ll act sad’. And I replied, ‘It’s definitely a sad thing. You don’t have to act, you just have to say everything as it is’. But that part got cut off.”

 

‘B’ also added that she is not conspiring with ‘A’, and that ‘A’ told her a different story than what is being revealed. “It’s not true that I tried to get money with ‘A’. I’m also confused as well. What ‘A’ told me happened, what the media is reporting, and the texts between Park Si Hoo’s hoobae and ‘A’ are so different. That’s why I’ve also stopped talking to ‘A’.”

Actor Kim Seung Woo and PD Choi Jae Hyung to leave ’1 Night 2 Days’

 

KBS 2TV‘s ‘1Night 2 Days‘ will be going through format changes as well as a change in PD, and with the announcement, actor Kim Seung Woo has also revealed that he’ll be leaving the show.

 

Kim Seung Woo’s camp confirmed his departure stating, “It is true that he will be leaving ’1N2D’.” Kim Seung Woo will be leaving to focus on his acting career and will participate in his final filming on the 15th along with PD Choi Jae Hyung, who will also be leaving the show.

 

PD Lee Sae Hee will join the team as the new PD for the show and is expected to cast another member into the ’1N2D’ family.

 

There were also rumors that singer Sung Si Kyung will be leaving ’1N2D’ as well. But his agency Jellyfish Entertainment denied the rumors responding, “There have been reports that Sung Si Kyung will be leaving the show and they are totally false.
