Singer Ailee prayed for the repose of Im Yoon Taek who passed away on
February 11 due to stomach cancer.
At the 2nd Gaon Chart K-pop Award that took place at February 13 at
7:00 p.m at Seoul Sonpa Olympic Hall, Ailee was nominated as the rookie female
artist of the year.
Ailee deeply moved the audience by saying, “I learned that music is not just
singing but sharing one’s feelings with others. Yoon Taek, rest in peace in
heaven.”
K-pop Award is based on the objective data that has been gathered from Gaon
Chart. The Award gives awards to 16 teams who sold the most albums from January
to December of last year.
Joo Young Hun and Brown Eyed Girls’ Ga In hosted the event and other artists
such as Big Bang, Super Junior, TVXQ, Taetiseo, 2NE1, Wonder Girls, T-ara
attended at the event.
