Super Junior’s Kangin volunteers his time in Vietnam

Super Junior‘s Kangin traveled to Vietnam to volunteer his time in honor of InStyle magazine’s 10th anniversary.

 

 

The idol star arrived at an elementary school in Vietnam for underprivileged children and became their teacher for a day, teaching them art and sports. Kangin, who normally loves children, did his best to entertain them by learning how to do balloon art prior to his arrival. He also gifted the children with a soccer ball and signed albums.

 

On his experience, Kangin shared, “I wish I don’t leave an impression as a strange foreign man who is here and then gone to the children. I want these children to feel that they are deserving of someone’s love.”

Actor Lee Jong Suk wants to compose a song?

Though idols have definitely made their presence known in the drama world, not as many actors have crossed over into music. Well-known actor Lee Jong Suk has revealed that he may try out composing.

 

As an actor, model, and former MC of ‘Inkigayo‘, Lee Jong Suk has shown since his debut four years ago that he is a star of many talents. He revealed that one of his hobbies was playing the guitar.

 

“A man needs to know how to play at least one instrument,” were the words his father told him, and so he grabbed the guitar. He’s still learning how to play, however. Lee Jong Suk stated, “You need to focus on it for a year to learn it, but when I start learning the chords, I need to film a project, so I forget how to play. I try to pick it up again and have to start all over, so I am still a beginner.”

 

He added that music is a part of his bucket list. “I never thought much about it, but I want to compose a song. I think if a song that I make lasts forever that will be great.” To compose a song, he even thought of getting some training from CNBLUE, who he is very close with.

 

In any case, he feels learning how to play the guitar should come first. “I went to a CNBLUE concert, and they were great. If I get a break after filming the movie ‘The Face Reader‘, I really want to focus on learning to play the guitar.”

INFINITE’s Sunggyu was hurt by L’s remarks about his solo album?

INFINITE‘s Sunggyu opened up about a time when he felt somewhat betrayed by a group member.

 

Discussing his solo album, “Another Me“, on the latest episode of MBC‘s ‘Radio Star‘, he revealed that he was disappointed by the lack of success of his first solo effort. The conversation started with MC Kim Kuk Jin pointing out, “I heard that your ambitious solo album was a complete failure. Your fans even made posts reading, ‘Don’t even type in or search about Sunggyu’s solo album failing’ since the search ranking will go up.”

 

Sunggyu sighed as he responded, “I saw that. If you type in ‘Sunggyu’ in the search bar, the related search term is ‘Sunggyu’s solo failure’.” The other MCs joked around to make him smile, and he continued, “It came out last year, and the songs were really good. The album is a classic. It’s a really well-made album.” Kyuhyun mentioned that INFINITE-H‘s album was doing well, and Sunggyu explained that it was because they had the name ‘INFINITE’ behind them, while he just promoted simply as ‘Kim Sunggyu’, and explained that he was originally going to be ‘INFINITE’s Sungyu’, but changed at the last minute.

 

Even more so than the failure itself, he related, was the reactions of his fellow INFINITE members. He said, “The worst thing was, L‘s sitcom was cancelled. I heard he was drinking with our CEO, so I went to them. In the beginning, he said he was so thankful that I was there, but when he got drunk, he said, ‘But it’s okay because you failed, too’. I went to cheer him on, but I was the one that got damaged. During that time, it was sort of hard for me to say anything, because he was having a hard time, too. Since I’m a hyung, I couldn’t go argue with him about it. I was going to let it go if he stopped there, but he just kept going. He even knew the exact ranking. Even I didn’t know that! I got angry and blurted, ‘Didn’t the drama get ruined because of you?’“.

 

Sunggyu went on to reveal that despite being hurt at the time over L’s remarks, they mutually put an end to the problem by getting over their hangover together the next morning – which goes to prove that in some cases, drinking does solve problems, after all! ok...after reading this article..what do u think??did u think SUNGGYU 1st solo album a FAILURE??? hemm..

personally I thought the album was brilliant, it's a shame it didn't get more recognition. As Sunggyu said, it was probably because he promoted it under his own name rather than Infinite's that it didn't get as much attention. ok..may be people will say if it good..u dont need to use INFINITE's name..

we must know that people don't tend to look up an artists unless they are well known.Most people didn't even know who Kim Sunggyu was when the album dropped. There usually needs to be a reason for someone to check an artist out and in this case, having Infinite's name attached to his name would have helped promote him..right?

in my opinion, Woollim didn't market him as well as they marketed Infinite H. Infinite H worked with known figures and that helped a lot in terms of interest, they were also on music programs, end of the year shows, Immortal Song, and had a showcase before the album was released. Sunggyu didn't have any of that, he just released his album out of nowhere and promoted it for three weeks and then he was gone.

beside that, Sunggyu didn't release an idol album, he released a modern rock album, and that's not a very popular genre of music in Korea..and I think that also factors into it his low sales.

for me..Sunggyu 1st solo album not totally failure..I like his album..its ok sunggyu-sii..even people say its a failure..its not to us (INSPIRIT)..! keep up good works sunggyu-sii..we will always support u..and I also glad that u being a GOOD hyung to others!
