Joo Won to act alongside Hangeng in new Chinese film 'Xiao You Qiao Mu'

Joo Won is advancing in the Chinese market as his agency, Sim Entertainment, revealed on May 5 that his next project will be Chinese film, 'Xiao You Qiao Mu.' Starting from the middle of this month, he will be going back and forth between Korea and China for filming purposes. 

The movie will be a joint Korean-and-Chinese film as well as an investment and distribution collaboration between production company, China Film, and entertainment company, Yuehua Entertainment.  'Xiao You Xiao Mu' will be a melodrama based on an internet novel that draws out the love story involving three men and one woman.  

In addition, Hangeng has been cast in the movie while Jo Jin Gyu will be grabbing the megaphone as the director. 

Director Lee Sang Gyu of Yuehua Entertainment's Korean branch said, "Joo Won's dramas received a lot of love in China and he is also receiving a lot of interest from the fans after the recent reports came out about his appearing in drama 'Nodame Cantabile.'  Considering the Hallyu wave in China, this production will likewise be a considerable hit.  There will be a positive result from this collaboration between the best Chinese film partner and Joo Won's acting skills."

Meanwhile, his movie 'Fashion King' will be revealed for the first time through the '67th Canne Films Festival.'

Yoo In Na's reps respond to questions raised about whether the actress and Ji Hyun Woo have broken up

Yoo In Na's reps have responded to questions being asked by fans and media following her boyfriend Ji Hyun Woo's discharge event.

Questions arose when she did not attend his discharge event and Ji Hyun Woo had offered an ambiguous response when asked about Yoo In Na (check out the previous article here). This left fans and netizens wondering if the two had perhaps drifted apart and split ways.

However, her agency YG Entertainment rep told several media outlets, "Yoo In Na has various schedules including a narration for a documentary so she couldn't make it to the site of Ji Hyun Woo's discharge... Due to her movie filming, Yoo In Na is going back and forth between Korea and China. She return to Korea from China on the 5th and is busy with her domestic schedule... Although she wasn't able to attend Ji Hyun Woo's event, the two are still dating fondly."

Yoo In Na is currently filming her Chinese film 'Wedding Bible' and taking on her MC activities on KBS Cool FM's 'Yoo In Na's Volume Up' and OnStyle's 'Get It Beauty'.

Is a “Love Line” Blooming Between Hong Soo Hyun and Seo Kang Joon?

The romance between actress Hong Soo Hyun and actor Seo Kang Joon  may be developing in SBS’ new Sunday variety show “Roommate.”

On May 4, the first episode of “Roommate” was aired where the celebrities from different fields moved in to the share house.

For Hong Soo Hyun, she has been living with her parents and she shared her thoughts about participating in “Roommate” by saying, “I lived a very reserved life. Now that I’m over 30 years old, I want to try something more daring. I am looking forward to it ,but at the same time, I’m worried because I’m really shy. I’m worried that I’m going to be the only strange one.”

However, as her stay within the house was shown, she was very active as she played Go-Stop with the other members.

Before the move-in day, Hong Soo Hyun called her mom and said, “Tell me everything you need to say to me.” Her mother responded by saying, “Adapt well. Take this opportunity and make good friends.” Hearing her answer, Hong Soo Hyun asked, “Can I make a boyfriend there?” Her mother replied by saying, “Dating is also a good strength in life.”

As Hong Soo Hyun’s life within the share house was revealed, a romance between her and Seo Kang Joon was hinted at. In the subtitle, the text “Mom is always right” could be seen and the happy scene of Hong Soo Hyun and Seo Kang Joon grocery shopping was shown.

Meanwhile, “Roommate” is a reality program where people come together and live with others, sharing many things. It’s a new trend with a “home share” concept.

Selca From Reality Show “Share House” Revealed

A selca picture taken by those who star in the cable channel Olive TV’s “Share House” has been revealed.

The picture, shot by designer Hwang Young Rong, consists of Chun Yee Seul and Son Ho Young falling asleep.

The program premiered on April 16 but like all variety programs, it had been canceled for several weeks due to the Sewol Ferry accident. The show will air its second episode this week.

“Share House” is a reality show where nine celebrities gather around to live together under a single roof. These celebrities include singer Son Ho Young, sports announcer Choi Hee, Lee Sang Min, Woo Hee, Choi Sung Joon, Chun Yee Seul, model Song Hae Na, Kim Jae Woong, and Hwang Young Rong.

Actor Lee Je Hoon Already in the Middle of Casting Battles Even Before Military Discharge

Actor Lee Je Hoon is slowly approaching the end of his military service; however, broadcast stations are already sending him numerous love calls.

The actor enlisted in October of 2012 and is currently finishing up his service at Seoul Metropolitan Police Special Promotional Unit. At the end of this coming July, he is expected to be discharged. It is reported that many producers and writers are covertly competing to try to get highly desired actor.

Before his enlistment, Lee Je Hoon received attention for displaying his outstanding charisma and acting skills through films such as, “Architecture 101,”  “The Front Line,” “My Paparotti,” and more. Although he has a “gentleman” image and good looks, he is still able to portray completely opposite personalities depending on which character he is acting as. He is also known for his positive attitude, which is how he was able to attract so many female fans in a short period of time.

After debuting in 2007, he steadily gained experience by acting in both minor and major roles in movies and dramas, and now, has finally started to receive recognition and praise from the public for his superb acting. Producers and writers also agree with the public, as they are trying hard to reach out to Lee Je Hoon before his official discharge. It is rumored that many broadcast officials, who were disappointed that he enlisted during his peak of popularity, have already started a war to cast the actor in secret.

With close to three months left in his mandatory service, plenty of scripts and synopses are already being sent to Lee Je Hoon’s agency. Many prominent directors in particular, are lining up to try and film a blockbuster drama with the casting of Lee Je Hoon.

One broadcast official stated about the industry’s immense interest in the actor, “It is at the point where many writers and producers have created a script especially with Lee Je Hoon in mind. It is common to see casting directors sharing and discussing Lee Je Hoon’s condition these days.”

Charismatic Soccer Team Profiles Released for “Our Neighborhood Arts and Physical Education”

On May 5, KBS 2TV’s “Our Neighborhood Arts and Physical Education” has been garnering attention after revealing the profile photos of the 10-member soccer team that will be participating in the show’s soccer episode.

In the stills, the team members are seen displaying their own distinct and confident poses on top of a grass field with the soccer stadium as a backdrop. Former soccer player Lee Young Pyo looks self-assured with his arms crossed, radiating charisma. As a goalkeeper, Kang Ho Dong’s scowling face gives off an intimidating vibe.

Also in the profile cuts, BEAST members Yoon Doo Joon and Lee Ki Kwang show off a manly image with their strong, muscular bodies and intense eye gazes. Additionally, the other members including Jung Hyung Don, Lee Jung, Seo Ji Suk, Goo Ja Myung, and more show their charismatic appeal as well.

“Triangle,” “Doctor Stranger,” and “Big Man” Are Neck and Neck in Ratings

Monday and Tuesday nights will be two back to back nights of competitive battles for drama viewership ratings as the May 5 ratings recorded a very close competition between the dramas of the three major broadcasting companies. 

According to Nielson Korea, MBC‘s new drama “Triangle,” featuring Lee Bum Soo, JYJ’s Jaejoong, and ZE:A‘s Im Siwan recorded a viewership of 8.9% for its first episode. The rating was 2.2% lower than the first episode of “Empress Ki,” a drama that previously aired in the same time slot. Yet, one cannot be sure of “Triangle’s” stable lead in the ratings battle as SBS‘ “Doctor Stranger,” featuring Lee Jong Suk, came close in second with a rating of 8.6%. As the first episode of the SBS drama recorded a rating 0.3% lower than “Triangle,” the upcoming ratings battle is unpredictable.

Furthermore, KBS‘ “Big Man,”starring Kang Ji Hwan, also recorded a close third with rating of 8%. As all three dramas brought in a viewership around the 8% mark, the victor of the Monday and Tuesday nights dramas is unclear. 

We hope that all three dramas will be successful and appealing to their viewers! MBC’s “Triangle,” SBS’ “Doctor Stranger,” and KBS’ “Big Man” all broadcast on Monday and Tuesday nights at 10PM (KST).
