B1A4′s Sandeul hosted MBC TV’s Show! Music Core after having an operation.

 

On the episode of Show! Music Core that aired live on February 16, Sandeul appeared as a special host with B1A4′s Jinyoung.

 

WM Entertainment, B1A4′s agency, reported that Sandeul underwent an operation on February 13 because of his chondral injury.

 

A spokesperson for Sandeul said, “Sandeul felt pain in his knees last week, so he went to see a doctor and was diagnosed with chondral injury. He immediately had an operation after that.”

 

On the show, Rainbow, B.A.P, NU’EST, Two X, Two Yoon, Sistar 19, Infinite H, VIXX, Eric Nam, DMTN, Jang Hee Young, MR. MR., Crayon Pop, Tiny-G, Jevice, and Dasoni performed.

Actor Lee Joon Gi posted a photo of himself taking a nap with his pets.

 

On February 15, Lee posted the photo on Weibo and commented, “Someone took this picture at a perfect timing. We’re all in deep sleep.”

 

In the picture, Lee appears to be fallen in a deep sleep on a couch, with his eyes firmly closed. His pet puppies that are in his arms attract particular attention. The pets rest their jaws comfortably on his arms and are taking a nap.

KBS to air ’2013 Big Concert’ featuring singers from past episodes of ‘I Am a Singer’ and ‘Immortal Song’

Some of the the industry’s most respected singers will be taking to the stage for a special concert held by KBS for its 40th anniversary!

 

The concert, ‘2013 Big Concert‘ will be featuring names like Insooni, Lee Eun Mi, Yoon Do Hyun, Kim Bum Soo, Baek Ji Young, Im Tae Kyung, Hong Kyung Min, Kim Tae Woo, ALi, and SISTAR‘s Hyorin, whom you may recognize as participants from the shows ‘Immortal Song‘ or ‘I Am A Singer‘.

 

The event will be broadcast on March 3rd and the singers will once again reinterpret classics and old favorites from the 1960s to 2000, much like they’ve done through the mentioned shows, to put on memorable performances.

 

The participating singers will also be getting together for collaborative performances to help reminisce on the past programs and popular songs covered on KBS over the years, so stay tuned for the broadcast!

LUNAFLY is getting ready to hold a showcase as well as a fan meeting in both Indonesia and Malaysia!

 

The group will be performing on ‘F.Y.I (Favorite YouTube Icons) On Stage‘ series, becoming the first Korean artist to do so.

 

The group will be holding their showcase through the event, and will follow with a meeting to get up close and personal with fans.

 

The events will take place on March 28th in Jakarta, Indonesia, and on the 30th at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

 

Despite not even promoting on broadcast, the group has already been recognized for their talent overseas, having been sent love calls from Japan, Peru, and France, and also even topped Malaysia’s 988 radio program’s music chart.

CNBLUE‘s Jonghyun shared a funny story about his parents on February 15th’s ‘Family’s Diginity – Full House‘.

Shinhwa‘s Dongwan gave Girls’ Generation some life advice during a recent filming of JTBC‘s ‘Shinhwa Broadcast‘.

 

Girls’ Generation decided to share some of their concerns and get some advice from the sunbae group. Sooyoung shared, “Is it better to [experience things] when I’m young even though I’ll regret it?”

 

Dongwan responded, “When I look back on my 20s, I regret more that I didn’t experience things because I thought I would regret it.” He continued, “If I were to return to the same age as Girls’ Generation, I think I would be more of a troublemaker with the consideration that I wouldn’t inconvenience others,” revealing his own regrets.

Ballad Group 7942 Releases MV for “Missing Love”

Rookie ballad group 7942, also known as C.G.S.E (Chil Gu Sa Ee) released the music video for their latest digital single “Missing Love” on February 13, a week after the digital single was released on online music stores on February 5.

 

7942 debuted in spring of 2012 under E.M. Brothers Co. with their single “I Will Become Famous”, and consists of members Hanghoon (leader), Hoon, Jonghyun, and Eungjoo.

 

“Missing Love” was produced by Daft Sound, and this simple and soft piano ballad is about the pains of being in love and unable to love. “Iris 2″ Criticized for Using Toy Guns

The first episode of KBS’s new drama “Iris 2” aired on February 13 and instantly became the most watched show on Wednesday-Thursday nights. However, the flaws on the show are garnering as much attention as the show itself from the viewers.

 

On the first two episodes, viewers noticed NNS agents were using visibly fake guns. The problematic scene starts where Jung Yoo Gun (played by Jang Hyuk) were deploying agents. On the surface, it seemed like the production crew did their homework and prepared MP5 submachine guns, which is the most popular gun for special forces internationally. However, this MP5 submachine guns soon turned out to be toy guns made for children made by a toy replica company.

 

This particular model of replica “Iris 2″ used has a long furrow right in the middle of the magazine to see how many bullets are left. However, the actual model of MP5 does not have this and the entire magazine is made with pressed iron plates. On “Iris 2,” all agents were using MP5s with bullets visible through the furrow in the magazines.

 

Moreover, this replica model is of 1980s model of MP5, MP5A3. Today, most special forces around the world use the most recent model, MP5A5. The pistols NNS agents use on the show are also toy guns. The camera even zooms into these toy guns at one point and reveals the spring and white BBs lined up inside it. In this close-up shot, anyone could easily tell the guns are fake.

 

Previously, Korean dramas and movies had similar problems as it was extremely difficult to get firearms (it is illegal to posses firearms in Korea outside of military and police purposes). However, the movie/drama industry started importing firearms made specially for filming purposes since the 1990s.

 

Taewon Entertainment, the production company of “Iris 2,” previously showed the perfect example of historical research on and preparation for firearms in film “71 into the Fire.” However, they failed to do the same with “Iris 2″ for whatever reason and ended up using clearly visibly fake guns to film the drama.

Orange Caramel Releases Short Ver. MV for “Mint Cookies & Cream” from Upcoming Japanese Album

After School‘s sub unit Orange Caramel has revealed their short version music video for “Mint Cookies & Cream” today on YouTube.

 

The song is from their upcoming first Japanese album “Orange Caramel” which will released next month on March 13. It has been reported to contain ten tracks, including Japanese versions of all their past hits.

Sean Will Hold a “10,000 Won Miracle” Concert for Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital

On February 28 at Seoul Mapo Art Center, Sean and Pureme Foundation will be holding a “10,000 Won Miracle Concert.” This concert is to celebrate the one year anniversary of the “10,000 Won Miracle” campaign, which started on February 14, 2012, as well as to show appreciation for those people who have made donations.

 

This concert will show many talented celebrities including singer Lee Eun Mi, musical actress Bae Hae Sun, musical director Won Mi Sol, and pianist Kim Min Soo.

 

Sean, who is well known for his extensive charity works, will share his songs, stories, and experiences. He stated, “I feel so happy to be holding this concert to celebrate all our great works last year. I hope that ’10,000 Won Miracle’ campaign will be even more successful this year.”

 

A representative from the Pureme Foundation announced, “Sean is an angel. He has the gift to bring out generous natures from people’s heart. We hope that this concert will allow people to realize the importance of helping others.”

On the upcoming part-two episode of the Girls’ Generation special on JTBC‘s ‘Shinhwa Broadcast‘, Shinhwa‘s Minwoo revealed that he once ate rotten food on purpose to be granted a break from his busy schedule.

SECRET‘s Sunhwa and actor Kim Bum recently donated 300 kg (~661 lbs) of rice to a social welfare organization located in Paju, Gyeonggido.

 

Social enterprise Nanum Store revealed that they had delivered Sunhwa and Kim Bum’s donated rice to the welfare organization on the 14th. The bags of rice were given by fans during the press conferences of Kim Bum’s drama ‘Wind Blows In Winter‘ and Sunhwa’s drama ‘Advertisement Genius Lee Tae Baek‘ to congratulate the two stars.

 

The two stars donated the bags of rice to Nanum’s ‘Rice Bank’, which were then distributed by Nanum to help people in need on Valentine’s Day, a perfect day to share the love.

‘Laws of the Jungle 3′ maintains #1 spot in viewer ratings despite suffering a drop

SBS‘ ‘Laws of the Jungle 3‘ aired it latest episode on the 15th, but its ratings suffered as it dropped a whopping 2.8%.

 

According to AGB Nielsen Media Research, the new episode achieved 15.3% in viewer ratings, which is almost a whole 3% drop since its last episode on February 8th that raked in 18.1%.

 

With the show facing controversy lately, it’s not a surprise to see some viewers turn away. CNBLUE & FNC Entertainment issue an official apology to Crying Nut

CNBLUE released an official apology to indie band Crying Nut and pleaded for a reconciliation on the lawsuit filed against the idol band for copyright infringement.

 

On the 15th, CNBLUE’s agency FNC Entertainment released an official statement on their homepage, “During the urgent situation of a live broadcast, we could not properly discern the song and led our artists to perform it on stage which we admit our agency is undeniably at fault and issue an apology.”

 

“The controversial broadcast material was released in the DVD without our knowledge, and we couldn’t catch on and respond to the distribution process beforehand. We are also regretful of how this issue arose today. On behalf of the members, we sincerely send our apology to sunbaes Crying Nut for the trouble inflicted upon them through this chain of events. We have a deep understanding of the problem raised and we promise that we will work hard to prevent these things from happening in the future. However, regarding the DVD as according to the news releases of various media outlets and broadcasters, we will say once again that we did not participate in its commercial release. We express our deep regret at the recently surfaced controversy involving CNBLUE. This will serve as a learning experience and we will do our best to prevent another incident like this from happening. We will do our best to create a smooth reconciliation concerning this issue.”

 

Crying Nut filed a lawsuit against CNBLUE because the idol band previously performed Crying Nut’s “Offside” on ‘M!Countdown‘ back in 2010 and the recorded performance was later included in their DVD released in Japan. However, Mnet had stepped forward to say they would be taking responsibility for the lawsuit. Crying Nut responded by asking Mnet to not interfere in their lawsuit against CNBLUE.

Psy covers the entire cost of Lim Yoon Taek’s funeral expenses

It has been revealed that superstar Psy secretly covered the entire cost Ulala Session‘ Lim Yoon Taek‘s funeral expenses. The fees added up to a total of 40 million won (~$37,000 USD) and this was Psy’s way of paying his final respect to the talented musician.

 

YG Entertainment commented, “This is something Psy personally did on his own and asked to keep it as a top secret, and it’s surprising that it was revealed somehow. Psy didn’t want to take away any attention from the deceased. He was hurt that there was nothing he could do.”

 

Psy quickly returned to Korea on the 12th from Malaysia upon hearing the news of Lim Yoon Taek’s passing. He stayed at the funeral for two hours to console the deceased’s family and stated, “An amazing person has left us. Please mourn for him.”
