claimed she’s confident because she’s not actually pretty. The
singer-turned-actress and her co-star Jo Jung
Suk held their press conference for the upcoming drama
‘You’re the Best Lee Soon Shin‘ on the 4th at the Seoul
Sogong-dong Plaza Hotel’s Grand Ballroom.
During the press conference, IU was asked what kind of charm she would bring
as Lee Soon Shin. She answered brightly, “If you watch a lot of dramas, in
the beginning a lot of the main female characters are described as not pretty,
but the male characters love them anyway. But even though the lead actresses
aren’t supposed to be pretty, they’re actually very pretty. I’m confident that I
can look not so pretty without any effects or makeup,” explaining that
she’ll try to bring realism to the drama.
In terms of acting, she confessed that she’d been really worried. IU said,
“I was really worried. A role in a KBS weekend drama is incredible. I
worried a lot about if I should actually do it. But the director, the writers,
and other staff made me believe I can. I acted with their trust. I’m going to
work hard at both my music and acting promotions.”
With IU as his love interest, Jo Jung Suk had his own worries. He revealed,
“When people heard that I was going to be IU’s boyfriend in the drama, even
my family called me a cradle-robber. As long as it’s okay with IU, I’m going to
work hard at the relationship.” When asked about the kiss scenes, he
wittily replied, “We’re still at the arguing stage, so I don’t know when
it’ll come out. I’m prepared for the criticism though.”
IU added, “We don’t have a romantic scenes yet. My fans told me, ‘Film
without any NGs, and [only kiss] once,’ but I think we’re going to have to do it
many times. I’m going to work hard.”
The drama is finally going to air on March 9th. Are you looking forward to
