Why did ZE:A’s Dong Jun lose 70m race?

Why did ZE:A’s Dong Jun lose 70m race?

ZE:A’s Dong Jun, “the king of short distance,” did not make it to the finals of 70m race. He gave a reason of his failure with a sense of humor: He gained some weight.

In February 11’s airing of MBC’s The Idol Track-And-Field and Archery Championships, the singer appeared in 70m race with Big Star’s Feeldog, 100%’s Sang Hoon, and Infinite’s Hoya before the finals of short distance. It was a very competitive match; all four participants arrived at the finish line almost at the same time.

The recording showed Feeldog reaching the finish line first then followed by Sang Hoon and Hoya. Dong Joon arrived fourth, not making it to the next level. In track and field competitions, winners are distinguished according to the arrival of their chest or abdomens, not their legs or feet.

With a big laugh, Dong Joon said, “To be honest, I’ve gained some weight in the past week. I want to say sorry to my fans. But I promise to work harder to be a better singer, better Dong Joon of ZE:A.”

The episode broadcasted about 150 “idol” singers participating in sports competitions including
4Minute, FT Island, Sistar, Brown Eyed Girls, MBLAQ, Andy, Teen Top, CNBlue, SHINee, ZE:A, and Dalshabet.
