2Yoon is the first girl group to be interviewed by Time
The American weekly news magazine, TIME, has shown its interest in the music by 2Yoon and observed the potential of K-pop market in future.
On February 15, an article with the title “Trend Alert: K-Pop Meets Country Music” was published on Time, with the link for the music video of 2Yoon’s new number “24/7” in the attachment. It introduced their attempt of the genre country pop.
The interview with 2Yoon covers one of the main pages on the board, and because it is first time for a girl group to be on cover page, it adds more meaning.
Time has evaluated the combination of country and K-pop in a positive manner. They said, “Country music and K-Pop may seem like strange bedfellows right now, but musicians and producers are betting that this unlikely union could yield the next chart-busting hit.”
About the song “24/7,” 2Yoon said that it was composed in a genre they hope would differentiate themselves in an already crowded market. Ji Yoon said, “It was time for us to show a different side.” Gayoon also said, “Country music is very easy listening and very relaxed. We were the first to mix country and K-pop. It was a brand-new genre.”
