B1A4’s “One Fine Day” to Begin Airing on July 21

On July 16, the members of B1A4 attended a press conference for their upcoming appearance on MBC Music’s B1A4’s “One Fine Day.”

“One Fine Day” is a program that follows idol groups while they go on a vacation, and B1A4 was chosen as the third group, following SHINee and f(x). B1A4 will be enjoying a one-week roadtrip in a camping car, visiting various places with beautiful scenery around the coast of Korea.  

During the press conference, member Baro confessed that he felt apologetic to his fellow group members for his increasing amounts of individual activities.

When asked about his thoughts on B1A4’s upcoming episode, Baro shared, “Before this trip, I went to Brazil for MBC’s ‘Infinity Challenge,’ as well as Laos for tvN’s ‘Youth Over Flowers.’ I felt sorry because I didn’t have much time to be with the members, but through this trip, we got to talk a lot and I was able to receive more strength thanks to them.”

He continued, “I’m thankful that my members are always supporting me and calling to ask how I’m doing, even when we’re far away [from each other]. I think I was able to see another side of the members that I’ve never known and I learned a little more about them through the trip.”

Fans and viewers will have a chance to see the colorful charms of all five members on B1A4’s episode of “One Fine Day,” which is set to begin airing on July 21 at 6 PM (KST).

Hyun Young Wants Her Son to Resemble an Actor, Not Her Husband

Supermodel and entertainer Hyun Young has announced her plans for a second child.

On the most recent edition of tvN’s nostalgia show “Those Days’ Top 10” she revealed her wish for a son that resembles Jang Geun Suk. On the episode, the topic of which was “stars who became famous through competitions,” Hyun Young appeared as a guest and talked about how she met her handsome husband and married life.

After marrying her finance professional husband in 2012, and raising one daughter who is now almost two years old, Hyun Young is thinking about her next step. “I already have a daughter, and now I want a son,” she said. “I hope he resembles actor Jang Geun Suk,” she said with a laugh.

On the episode, which was broadcast on July 16 at 7:50 pm, she also discussed her beauty pageant past and revealed many behind the scenes stories and secrets.

Jung Joon Young Leaves Defconn out in the Cold on Weekly Idol

On July 16, Jung Joon Young was invited to appear on MBC every1′s “Weekly Idol’s” “Idol of the Week” edition. As soon as he entered the studio, he shouted “1 Night 2 Days!” laughing brightly.

Talking about fellow guest Defconn, he stated “His appearance on ’1 Night 2 Days’ and ‘Weekly Idol’ is different. On ‘Weekly Idol’ he acts like a real man’s man, but on ’1 Night 2 Days’ he’s a worrywart. It seems like he worries every episode,” he said.

When asked who the funniest members on “1 Night 2 Days” are, Jung Joon Young said “Kim Jun Ho is first, second is Kim Jong Min, and third is Kim Ju Hyuk.” Unconcerned with the nervous Defconn’s feelings, he continued “Fourth is Nada, fifth is Cha Tae Hyun,” leaving poor Defconn rather embarrassed.

Kam Woo Sung and Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung Overcome 20-Year Age Gap for Drama “My Spring Day”

Sooyoung of Girls’ Generation and actor Kam Woo Sung have confirmed their lead roles in MBC’s new drama, “My Spring Day.”

“My Spring Day” is a drama that tells the story of a terminally ill woman who goes through an organ transplant to receive a new heart. Sooyoung will play the role of heroine Lee Bom, the woman who gets the chance to live a brand new life after a heart transplant. This drama will be her return to the small screen in about one year, since starring in tvN’s “Dating Agency: Cyrano.”

Actor Kam Woo Sung, who is 20 years older than Sooyoung, will play the lead male role of Kang Dong Ha, a CEO of a livestock company. Kang Dong Ha loses his wife in an accident and has to raise his two children by himself. Lee Bom is the woman who receives his wife’s heart in an organ transplant, and in a weird twist of fate, is also the woman he falls in love with.

“My Spring Day” is described as a heart-warming drama, drawing on the premise of  ”cellular memory”- an unverified notion that claims memories can be stored in individual cells, causing the receiver of an organ transplant to act like or have the the personality of the donor. The drama is directed by Lee Jae Dong who has previously directed “Thank You” and “Missing You.” It is written by Park Ji Sook, who recently wrote the drama “Hero.”

“My Spring Day” is scheduled to begin airing in September, following the end of the currently airing “Fated to Love You.”

Singer Kim Bum Soo Becomes a Judge for “Superstar K6”

Singer Kim Bum Soo will be joining Mnet’s “Superstar K6” as a judge, along with singers Lee Seung Chul and Yoon Jong Shin.

On July 17, Mnet revealed that, “Kim Bum Soo is famous for shaking the hearts of the listeners through his singing abilities and has confirmed to be the judge on the show.” This is the first time Kim Bum Soo joined an audition program as a judge.

Among the participants of the show, many have expressed that out of the many talented vocalists, Kim Bum Soo is one of the singer that many of them want to be like. His well-known songs, “I Miss You” and “Last Love” are the songs that many participants have sung on the show. Many are wondering what the singer will bring to the show as a judge with his unique singing abilities and witty comments.

Kim Bum Soo talked about his appearance on the show by saying, “I’ve received many offers to be the judge on audition shows but when I imagine myself judging someone, it’s very burdening and that’s why I declined. However, I saw how the staff was trying to communicate with the viewers and when I saw them working hard to make this upcoming season a success, I thought it would be good for me to accept.”

Continuing on, he said, “I understand, more than anyone, the feelings that an aspiring singer feels when they’re lost. It’s because I’ve experienced it myself.  I decided to become a judge on the show because I believe it’ll have a great meaning if I helped those participants find their potential.”

He explained how he will prepare for the show by saying, “I believe ‘Superstar K’ is the only place where people, who have the passion to sing can fulfill their dreams. I will find the hidden potential in the participants through my experience and background. I will become a judge that will help open up a potential path and give honest advices.”

The staff of the show said, “We believe Kim Bum Soo is the most fitting as a judge on the show. Through his talented singing abilities, we’re expecting him to find a new star that will touch the hearts of many through their singing.”

Meanwhile, “Superstar K6” have been accepting participants since March. They have visited 14 cities along with the Americas, Japan and the Philippines. They have completed the second round of elimination and are officially preparing to film the show. For this season, they have visited the most cities and had a variety of methods to participate.

The first episode of “Superstar K6” will be aired on August 22.

Kris leaves mysterious message on his Weibo

Kris, or Wu Yi Fan, is raising eyebrows once again with a recent Weibo post of which people can't make heads or tails.

He re-posted something written by director Guo Jing Ming of 'Tiny Times 3' that revealed Kris will be singing the ending song "Time Hushes All Memories" for the movie. 

Unfortunately, no videos or images of Kris for the movie will be revealed, but his voice will at least be heard on July 17.

Kris added his own words, "We promised not to leave each other and always be together... Thank you, each and every one of you."

New Drama, “Temptation” Starts Off in Third Place in Viewer Ratings

SBS’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Temptation” started off with a 7.6% rating, starting off in third place among the other Monday-Tuesday dramas.

Among the dramas that aired around the same time as “Temptation,” it had the lowest rating. However, since it’s only the first episode and the difference in ratings isn’t that big, it’s not a bad start.

“Temptation” aired its first episode after “Doctor Stranger” finished. The drama is about a man that accepts a tempting offer and makes a decision he cannot take back. Kwon Sang Woo plays the character Cha Suk Hoon who is pushed to the limits and Choi Ji Woo plays the character Yoo Sae Young that tempts him through a secretive offer. “Tempation” aired its first episode on July 14 where it revealed the tense relationship between Cha Suk Hoon and Yoo Sae Young.

Meanwhile, the rating for MBC’s “Triangle” is 9.1%, placing it in first place. KBS 2TV’s “Trot Lovers” had a rating of 8.3%.

SHINee’s Key, BEAST’s Yoseob, AOA’s Choa, and More Set to Star in “Zorro: The Musical”

M Musical, the company behind forthcoming performance “Zorro: The Musical,” has confirmed the lead actors of SHINee’s Key, BEAST’s Yoseob, solo star Wheesung, AOA member Choa, and musical actor Kim Woo Hyung for the musical. Promotional posters of the stars have also been released to the media.

Key has already had experience in musicals, and recently performed in “The Three Musketeers” and “Bonnie and Clyde.” Yoseob has also appeared in productions, such as “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” Kim Woo Hyung is famous for his roles in the Korean renditions of “Les Misérables” and “Ghost.”

The four male stars will take it in turns to perform the title role, that of a masked, do-gooding outlaw, whose real name is Diego. Choa, meanwhile, will play Zorro’s love interest, Luisa.

The Korean production follows a successful debut for the musical in the United Kingdom, and productions in the United States, Israel, and Russia.

M Musical representatives have explained that Korean musical fans can expect certain differences, however. A spokesperson said, “Our version is not exactly the same as the original. We are trying to make the individual characters as vivid as possible.

“Zorro: The Musical” will be performed at Seoul’s Chungmu Art Hall. The opening night is scheduled for August 27, and performances run until October 26.

2AM’s Jo Kwon and missA’s Fei Sing a Duet for “Temptation” OST

Singer Jo Kwon, who is a part of the boy group 2AM, and Fei, a member of the girl group missA, participated in the OST for SBS’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Temptation.”

On July 14, Jo Kwon uploaded a picture of himself and Fei on his Instagram. Along with the picture, he added a message that said, “I sang ‘One Summer Night’ with Fei for SBS’s Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Temptation.”

After “Stairway to Heaven,” it has been 11 years since actors Kwon Sang Woo and Choi Ji Woo worked together. “Temptation” is a story about a man who is at his limits. He accepts a tempting offer and makes a decision he cannot take back. The drama focuses on four characters that try to find the true meaning of love. The first episode was aired on July 14.

Meanwhile, Jo Kwon is currently playing the main character Adam, in the musical, “Priscilla.”

Heechul Apologizes to People He Hurt While Doing “War of Words”

Super Junior‘s Kim Heechul has finished his stint in the JTBC variety program “War of Words” on July 14. The singer/host has been onboard the show since September last year, making his stay in the program two months shy of a full year. In Heechul’s last recording for the show, he mentioned about having the pressure of talking about the people close to him.

Through his personal Instagram account, Heechul posted a photo together with his fans and poured his heart and thoughts regarding his last appearance in the program, “War of Words.”

The singer wrote, “The last recording of “War of Words” finished well. It’s bittersweet. Talking about the people around me during broadcast was really.. difficult…. Finally, after giving it a lot of thought, I decided that ‘If I can’t do it well, then I should get off (the show)’ I talked to the ‘War of Words’ team regarding this emotional burden and they understood my concerns.”

Heechul followed with a sincere apology for what he have said in the show. “To the viewers and those who were hurt by my words, although I can’t wash off everything just by saying sorry, I will forever keep all these things in my heart and I will be careful of my words especially during broadcast,” said the singer/host.

“War of Words” is a show that discusses a wide range of topics including politics, economy, sports, and entertainment. As a panel member in the show, Heechul has revealed his honest opinion about hot topics including his label mates and close friends f(x)’s Sulli’s controversial relationship with Dynamic Duo’s Choiza and the relationship of Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and EXO’s Baekhyun.

Super Junior-M’s Henry Surprises Mommy Fan at Variety Show “Hello Counselor”

On the July 14 broadcast of the KBS 2TV variety program, “Hello Counselor,” a mother who is a big fan of Super Junior-M‘s Henry had the biggest surprise of her life as the singer appeared right in front of her eyes.

On this episode of “Hello Counselor,” a girl in her senior year of high school came to the show to share her concern about her mother who is a very big fan of Super Junior-M’s Henry.

“Mom plays Henry’s music video loudly from 6 a.m. in the morning. She also looks at Henry’s picture and talks to it. She even named the coffee shop ‘Henry.’ She insists that she looks like Henry,” the daughter shared.

To this, the mother, who was seated among the audience, said, “Henry is very cute and nice. I like it even when Henry is just talking. He’s cute when he speaks in his poor Korean.” When it was known that her daughter complains about not being able to make breakfast for her, the mother explained, “There’s a lot of food sold around her school anyway.”

The hosts talked more to the mother about her obsession about Henry and the mother revealed that she talks to Henry’s photo on her phone. The hosts then flashed a photo of Henry on the screen and the mother talked to Henry as she would do all the time, until Henry really appeared behind her and brought the whole audience to a shock. The mother was very happy to see Henry.

Henry, who was happy that his fan came to the show, said that he’s grateful to the mother. However, when asked what he’ll say to the daughter, the singer was apologetic and said, “I’m sorry.”

The mother shared that Henry is a big inspiration for her and helps make her happy. “About this time last year, my life was in a very difficult position and I wanted to give everything up. At that time, I heard the song ‘Trap’ and I gained some strength. I fell for him from then on. Whenever I feel difficulties, I look at and listen to Henry and I gain strength and think that I have to live,” said the mother.

G-Dragon Sends Wreath for 3rd Anniversary of “Weekly Idol,” Leaves Out Jung Hyung Don’s Name

The MBC show, “Weekly Idol,” is celebrating its third year anniversary and various idols who have appeared in the show have come again to send their congratulations.

A total of 100 artists including G-Dragon, IU, BEAST, INFINITE, and EXO were invited to “Weekly Idol” for the special project in celebration of its third anniversary.

G-Dragon even sent a congratulatory wreath to the show which was posted on the official Twitter account of “Weekly Idol.” The show sent its gratitude to the singer and said, “TO. G-Dragon. We received the wreath you have sent to congratulate the third anniversary of ‘Weekly Idol.’ We would like to convey Cony’s sincerest gratitude and Dony’s sincerest jealousy. Thank you, loyal G-Dragon! May you be blessed.”

In the photo of the wreath sent by the BIGBANG leader G-Dragon, the ribbon said, “I love you, Defcon. (From) G-Dragon.” The singer drew laughter from purposely leaving out the name of MC Jung Hyung Don (Dony) whom he have become close with through the show “Infinity Challenge.”

Meanwhile, the artists who were able to come to the show played games and had a fun talk with the hosts Cony and Dony as they celebrate the show’s third anniversary.

INFINITE is “Back” With a New Teaser Video!

INFINITE just doesn’t know when to stop! The boys have just released the teaser for their upcoming music video, “Back.”

The group’s concept is dark and serious and the boys are all sporting very new hairdos with wounds to match. Not much is revealed about the track but fans can expect “Back” to be a music video filled with a lot of emotions.

“Back” is part of INFINITE’s repackaged album for their recently released full-length album, “Season 2.” The full music video will drop on July 22. Meanwhile, the boys recently wrapped up their promotions for “Last Romeo.” They are currently preparing for their concert, “That Summer 2,” happening next month at the Bluesquare Samsung Card Hall. Jang Geun Suk and Rain Deny Rumors of Tax Evasion

Actor Jang Geun Suk and singer Rain have both denied the rumors that have been circulating about their alleged attempts at tax evasion. In a press release on July 14, Jang Geun Suk’s agency Tree J Company said, “The report made by ‘channel A’ regarding taxes on international income are false reports. That Jang Geun Suk is being investigated by the police for tax evasion is also not true. Tree J Company, for all activities abroad, has always carried on following the signing of proper contracts.”

Rain’s agency Cube DC said the same: “The reports today regarding tax on foreign income made by ‘channel A’ are false.” Cube DC also said that they have always had proper contracts for any work that they do abroad, and that they receive their payment to their official Cube DC account in accordance with a proper, transparent invoices.

Previously, ‘channel A’ reported that Jang Geun Suk and Rain disregarded income tax in the process of transferring in income received outside of Korea.

Camera Tents of “Superman Returns” Explained

Have you ever wondered about what it’s like inside those camera tents on popular KBS variety program “Superman Returns“? 

Recently, the producer of “Superman Returns” offered some more details on the ongoing behind the mysterious tents that make appearance on every episode of “Superman Returns.” As viewers have caught on earlier on, the tents house cameramen who shoot footage of everyday lives of the children on the hit show. 

Since they are filming young children who are not accustomed to being followed by cameramen, keeping the cameramen hidden seems to be the best way to keep the young stars acting naturally.

Initially, these tents started out with cardboard boxes, but have now evolved into the cute-looking tents they are now. 

Producer Kang Bong Kyu said that once a cameraman is inside a tent, they have to stay there for three to four hours without leaving. The staff members take turns to go into the tent throughout shooting. When it’s meal time, they would sneak in food to eat while shooting. 

As the difficulty of entering and remaining still in these small structures are different, the placement of cameramen depends on how old the cameramen are. The youngest cameraman will normally have to go into the box, while the eldest would be in charge of the automated cameras. 

“Superman Returns” recently welcomed a new family, as actor Song Il Gook joined the show with his triplets.

CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa Joins Forces with Fans for Cambodia Rice Donation

CNBLUE star Jung Yong Hwa has joined forces with a group of his fans to make a donation of 5,000 kilograms of rice, which will be used to feed impoverished children in Cambodia.

The supporters belong to a fan café called DC Jung Yong Hwa Gallery, and the donation saw the rice donated to children in the Holt Dream Center, in the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh on July 10, an event which some of the supporters personally attended. They assisted in cooking and serving free meals to the children at the center.

This is not the first time DC Jung Yong Hwa Gallery, Holt, and Jung Yong Hwa have joined forces to help Cambodia’s needy. In May, the CNBLUE member and fans made a joint donation of 300 cans of milk and over one and half tons of rice to children via the charity organization.

“The Three Musketeers” Drops First Two Character Teasers for Jung Yong Hwa and Lee Jin Wook

“The Three Musketeers,” one of the most anticipated dramas for the end of this year, has released two character teasers, one for Jung Yong Hwa and one for Lee Jin Wook.

The action-romance drama is based on Alexandre Dumas’ 1844 novel “The Three Musketeers,” and is set against the background of the Joseon era. Taking the romantic fiction of Dumas’ “The Three Musketeers” and the tragic history of Crown Prince Sohyeon, the upcoming drama will be putting a completely new twist on the stories.

The teasers show Park Dal Hyang (Jung Yong Hwa), one of the three musketeers, and Crown Prince Sohyeon (Lee Jin Wook), the leader of the three musketeers. Playing the roles of musketeers Heo Seung Po and Ahn Min Seo will be actors Yang Dong Geun and Jung Hae In, respectively.

Kim Young Gu from CJ E&M said, “We tried to relay with the teasers that this one is different from other historical dramas. Each of the character teasers play to the personality of the character. Dal Hyang’s teaser has a cheerful and optimistic vibe, with upbeat background music, and Prince Sohyeon’s is more cold and charismatic.”

Yoon Kye Sang’s Honest Message Brings Tears to g.o.d Members and Fans

On the first leg of g.o.d’s 15th Anniversary Concert on July 12 held at Jamsil Stadium, g.o.d member Yoon Kye Sang surprised everyone–including 13,000 fans– through a video message that showed his sincere feelings towards the members and their fans.

“Actually, I made this without the members knowing. Shall we listen to it together for a while?,” the singer-actor began. “I’m looking at g.o.d right now. There’s a saying that time heals all wounds. It really seems to be true. Tae Woo, Ho Young, Danny, and Joon hyung whom I have gotten so used to being with, there was a time that we were separated. We were so used to each other like friends who separate and promise to meet again. As I look at hyung and the other members, I thought, it really was the case for us,” continued Yoon Kye Sang.

The singer-actor then addressed each of the members:

“My younger brother Tae Woo. You’re the youngest and cutest in our team. I’m really amazed that you’re a father now. Because you’re a father, you came to find me and told me to come back to g.o.d countless times. It must not have been easy for you to do that. Knowing very well that since you’re the youngest, you like your older brothers very well and yet, I was like a fool who was disappointed at things and was like a crying baby boy. I want to tell you this now. Tae Woo, among all of us, you’re the one who’s mostly like an adult and you made g.o.d happen once again. Thank you, Tae Woo,” said Yoon Kye Sang to g.o.d member Kim Tae Woo.

“Ho Young, who’s always smiling and always thinking of others first before himself. How can you be just like how you were before? Nothing’s changed aside from your body. Your body is so much bigger now but your heart is like that of a flower’s. I loved you very much. That’s why it was so hard for me to run towards you once again. When we separated, I think I wanted to tell you as much as you wanted me to let you know. That’s why we hurt so much more. Now that I look at it, I think that was foolish (of us),” Yoon Kye Sang said to g.o.d member Son Ho Young.

Yoon Kye Sang also brought up how he felt upon hearing news of Son Ho Young’s suicide attempt last year following the death of his girlfriend.  ”When you had difficulties, I was really very angry at you. I also regretted. That’s why I found you and wanted to tell you a lot of things as your hyung, but now that we’ve finally met again, I can’t do that. Because as your hyung, I wasn’t able to do anything for you during those times. Actually, I hoped that the sorry feelings I had for you didn’t turn into anger,” said Yoon Kye Sang about the feelings he had when g.o.d member Son Ho Young was in a very low point of his life.

“Do you remember the time when, together with the members, we went to see you? The moment you saw me, you said, ‘Hyung, I thought about it a lot. Can’t we just go back to the way things are before?’ I just want to be in g.o.d. Let’s do it.’ I wasn’t able to say anything. What should I have said? My heart was in pain and I was so sorry, I felt that there wasn’t any need to explain anything. That’s why, like that, I said ‘Let’s do it.’,” continued Yoon Kye Sang.

“Ho Young, my beloved Ho Young. Thanks. Thank you for accepting me once again as your hyung and for giving me the chance to be g.o.d again. As always, you hit the finishing blow. Your body is not the only thing that’s scary, your heart is also frightening. It’s good that your true feelings are scary, Ho Young,” added Yoon Kye Sang.

“Our Joon hyung. The hyung who has purity in him. The member who has worked hardest in g.o.d is hyung, of course. Because you have fed all of us and made us live. At that time, I didn’t know very well how lonely and hard it was for you. Because everything was not sufficient. You were filled with dissatisfaction and when you make a small mistake, you thought that everything was an excuse. I’m sorry, hyung. As time passed and I grew as old as hyung was then, I think I understood a little about how hard you must have felt during those times. Finally, Yoon Kye Sang sent his message to their fans. “To my members who are this important to me and to our fans who have received everything again, I am very thankful and I cannot express my gratitude in words. Just, let’s not separate again, okay? Let’s just live together,” said Yoon Kye Sang.

After the video message, everyone had mixed emotions of happiness and sadness. The members huddled and embraced each other as tears started falling from their eyes.

Actor Yoon Kye Sang made his debut as a g.o.d member in 1999 and left the group in 2004 to pursue an acting career. He has returned to g.o.d in time for the group’s 15th anniversary and will be joining the group’s nationwide tour at Gwangju on August 2-3, Busan on August 15-16, Daegu on August 23-24, and Daejeon on August 30-31.

Infinite Releases a Classy Behind-the-Scenes Teaser for “Be Back”

Boy group Infinite released a classy teaser video for their upcoming comeback single, “Be Back“. 

A behind-the-scenes video for their music video for “Be Back”, the teaser video shows the seven members of the popular boy group in sophisticated black and white, standing in a dry outdoor shooting location. 

Infinite’s upcoming single “Be Back” will be released on July 22. 

The seven-member boy group will also be holding their solo concert soon. Titled “That Summer 2“, their solo concert will take place between August 7 to August 10, then August 14 to August 16 at the Bluesquare Samsung Card Hall, with numerous Infinite fans expected to be in attendance.

Original JYP Family Shows Loyalty: Park Jin Young, Rain, and g.o.d Reunite at g.o.d’s Reunion Concert

Singer and producer Park Jin Young, singer and actor Rain, and the nation’s group g.o.d have come together once again at g.o.d’s 15th anniversary reunion concert to show their close friendship.

On July 14, g.o.d’s oldest member Park Joon Hyung posted on his personal Instagram account, “With the original JYP FAMILY at our concert! I’m always thankful, Jin Young & Ji Hoon! OG JYP Family #g.o.d #JYP & lil bro #Rain! #kpop #Korea #g.o.dconcert,” along with a photo of the entire group.

In the uploaded picture, you can see Park Jin Young and Rain, who were at the reunion concert to show their support, huddled close together with all five members of g.o.d, smiling and posing for the camera. The heartwarming photo displays their ongoing bond and unchanged friendship from the times they shared together, as a part of the JYP family in the past.

Meanwhile, g.o.d successfully wrapped up the Seoul leg of their national 15th anniversary reunion tour on July 12 and 13, and will be heading to Gwangju, Busan, Daegu, and Daejeon, to open up a total of eight concerts.

Girl’s Day’s Minah Admits She Was Jealous of miss A and SISTAR

The normally bubbly and smiley Minah of Girl’s Day shared her feelings to the audience of sadness and disappointment during the early days of her group.

On KBS2TV’s “1 vs. 100″, she revealed that she felt jealous of girl groups miss A and SISTAR  who debuted in the same year as they did and yet they have already received their first place awards on music shows.

However, all ended well as she expressed her happiness and further explained that she cried when Girl’s Day finally received their first place award on a music show. 

Meanwhile, Girl’s Day released the music video for their new song “Darling”yesterday. It’s the title song of their new mini album “Summer Party” which swept various music charts upon release today.

Henry Shows His Humble Side and Says that He’s Not a Genius

Henry, who is called a “musical genius” by many for his talents, admitted that he is far from being a genius.

In an interview conducted before his comeback performance of “Fantastic” on “KBS Music Bank“, Henry said that contrary to popular beliefs, he is not a musical genius.

On his multiple musical talents, he said, “I have a lot of things I can do, but I am bad at all of them. The only thing I was decent at was English, but even that I am beginning to forget. Now I use Korean more, and sometimes I can’t remember some words in English. It’s frustrating.” 

He also brought up his previous awards for his musical talents when he was a child, adding humorously, “I was good when I was little. But my abilities now are the same as then. So I can’t say I’m a genius. I have to keep on practicing, but I have military service to do…” 

On his future plans, Henry said that he wants to try his hand at musicals and soundtracks, showing his ambitions for music. 

Henry recently released his second solo mini album with his title track “Fantastic” and is participating in the MBC reality TV variety show “Real Men.”

Shim Eun Kyung in Talks Again for Lead Role in “Nodame Cantabile”

Actress Shim Eun Kyung is the new likely candidate for the high speculated lead role in the upcoming drama “Nodame Cantabile.” 

According to Mulhwa Ilbo, a representative of the drama said, “We have wrapped up verbal negotiations with Shim Eun Kyung’s agency. We expect to sign the contracts and make the officially make the announcement next week. We plan to start filming in August.”

Shim Eun Kyung had originally turned down the offer for Nodame due to the conflicting schedules that would arise as she will be filming the movie “Waiting for You.” However, reports were saying that the filming schedule for the movie was pushed back to accommodate “Nodame Cantabile.” 

Shim Eun Kyung’s representatives were more cautious about the announcement. “We have talked with the staff of ‘Nodame Cantabile’ but have not met officially to discuss. The announcement that it has been official is an embarrassing situation for us. While it is true that the schedule for the movie has been pushed back, it does not mean that the drama will fill in the empty space in her schedule. “

Shim Eun Kyung played supporting characters in dramas such as “Jewel in the Palace,” “Hwang Jin Yi,” and “The Legend.” She has also had a growing movie career with “Sunny” and “Miss Granny.”

Girl’s Day Clarifies Rumors About Their Charity Concert

Girl group Girl’s Day clarified rumors about their first solo concert. 

Girl’s Day held their very first solo concert on July 13, bringing out 2000 fans. They announced that the profits from the tickets will all proceed to an international children’s charity organization, Plan Korea.

However, some accused the group of using the charity concert as just a publicity stunt. The tickets were only 10000 won (approximately 10 USD) and they questioned whether there would be any money left to donate after covering the concert production costs.

To this accusation, a representative from Girl’s Day’s agency announced, “the production costs will be covered by the company. The 14,000,000 won from the concert, 5,000,000 won from the merchandise sales, and money raised from other activities will total up to 30,000,000 won (approximately 30,000 USD), which will all be donated to Plan Korea.

Currently, Girl’s Day are the spokespeople for the international charity organization Plan Korea. They released their latest mini album on July 14, and are topping various charts with their single “Darling.”

Super Junior M to Travel Korea with Chinese Fans for Their New TV Show

Super Junior M recently held a press conference for their upcoming reality television show, “Super Junior M’s Guest House.“ 

“Super Junior M’s Guest House” is a reality TV show where the seven members of Super Junior M, Ryeowook, Kyuhyun, Donghae, Zhoumi, Eunhyuk, Sungmin, and Henry, travel Korea with their Chinese fans. 

During the press conference held on July 14, members of Super Junior M offered various witty answers to the questions asked by the reporters.

When asked whether Super Junior M was planning on traveling with their Korean fans, Eunhyuk answered, saying, “We were not aware that the Korean fans would be disappointed. If they indeed are, we can have another program with a different broadcasting channel to travel with our Korean fans.” 

He also added that they are in the process of preparing for their seventh album. 

“Super Junior M’s Guest House” is a joint collaboration between SBS and Youku Todou. It will air on SBS’ cable channels in September.

BTOB and Jung Joon Young Team Up Against “A Song For You” MCs Kangin, Amber, and Sungjae in Chicken Battle for Show’s Pilot Episode

The third season of KBS’ music show “A Song For You” secured its timeslot, and the premiere date is now set for this Saturday, July 19 at 12:15 a.m. (KST).

“A Song For You” is not just any music program, but is coined a “Global Request Show” as the content is largely based on the contribution by foreign fans. The fans get to submit their stories and request songs to the guest ahead of the filming. During the episode recording, the musician watches the selected video submissions and later pick which song requests to fulfill.

Super Junior’s Kangin, f(x)’s Amber, and BTOB’s Yook Sungjae are the three MCs for this season. The guests for the pilot episode are singer Jung Joon Young and BTOB’s vocal line (Seo Eunkwang, Lee Changsub, Lim Hyunsik).

One of Jung Joon Young’s fans proposed that they play a game that requires a random element, so the guests immediately formed a team against the three MCs. The mission for the game is to eat the delicious marinated chicken while avoiding ones that are super spicy.

Jung Joon Young, a veteran of the “random games” due to his fixed appearance on KBS’ reality program “1 Night 2 Days,” gave his teammates some advice including “The bigger chicken are a bit dangerous,” and “Be careful of chicken with almond.”

IU Reveals She Received Treatment for Bulimia on “Healing Camp”

Singer IU, who previously talked about receiving pressure from her family before she made her debut, continued sharing her personal battles and has revealed her very personal experience of battling with an eating disorder at the filming for the episode of the SBS show, “Healing Camp.” 

The episode, which will air later tonight, July 14, features the young singer, who really opens up. “My heart was empty. I always felt anxious after I made my debut and from a certain time, I filled the void through food,” said IU. “Rather than feeling good, I always had that feeling of anxiety thinking there’s still something lacking,” continued the singer.

“At that time, I ate until I threw up and I even sought treatment,” revealed IU. 

In this episode, IU also made some curious remarks, claiming that she is an “overrated singer” who really “cheated properly” with her latest album, “Flower Bookmark.”

Park Hae Jin will be making his debut as a designer!

He's the designer for the Chinese fashion brand V-modern. He'll have his first fashion show stage on the 17th with 50 models and actors at Beijing's JW Mariott Hotel. V-modern is a brand Park Hae Jin launched himself. For this event, he's invited all sorts of top-notch Chinese celebrities.

As the designer and not a celebrity, he'll be participating throughout the entire event starting at 1PM, greeting guests, talking to press, and running the show.

Haru Cries Thinking About Dad Tablo’s Safety on “Superman Returns”

A child’s love for her father cannot be denied. Even though Lee Haru is still young, the four-year-old daughter of Epik High‘s Tablo has captured the hearts of many for her sincere and touching expression of love for her father.

During the filming of the upcoming episode of the KBS 2TV variety show “Superman Returns,” the father and daughter tandem went on a trip to Yangpyeong.

While on the train, the two engaged in a fun and imaginative conversation starting with Haru talking about them catching a catfish and either making spicy stew with it or taking care of it in their home.

While talking, Haru had a wild thought: “Shall we eat a dolphin?” Tablo gently answered his daughter, “Dolphins are our friends so let’s just catch a shark and eat it,” and started to make Haru laugh. But Haru’s imagination even went further and tears soon started to form in the kid’s eyes. “No~ I think Dad will lose (to the shark),” Haru showed genuine concern for her father, Tablo.

Tablo, who was moved by her daughter who thinks of her father’s welfare, said to Haru, “Dad will win over the shark for you~.” However, even with Tablo’s assurance, Haru was still worried and continued saying, “No~ Even so, I think you’ll lose.”

See how Tablo manages to make Haru assured that he won’t lose to the sharks on the upcoming episode of “Superman Returns” which will air on July 13, 4:10 p.m.

Two Sets of Twins, Four Times the Cute on “Superman Returns!”

On the July 13 broadcast of KBS 2TV’s variety program “Superman Returns,” the cameras captured Lee Hwi Jae’s twin boys, Seo Un and Seo Jun, spent more time together with S.E.S. Shoo’s twin girls, Ra Yool and Ra Hee.

During the broadcast, the two sets of twins continued to enjoy a fun playdate. After munching on some snacks, the four babies kept themselves entertained by dancing to music and playing with toys.

Because it has always been just the two of them, Seo Un and Seo Jun showed a lot of interest in Ra Yool and Ra Hee upon their entrance into Lee Hwi Jae’s home, and it appears that the feelings were mutual for Shoo’s twin daughters as well.

Girl’s Day Sweeps Music Charts with Newest Release “Darling”

Girl’s Day’s latest title track “Darling” from the group’s brand new mini album “Girl’s Day Everyday #4” has been sweeping the top spot across eight major music sites within seven hours of its release on July 14. These music charts include Melon, Bugs Music, Olleh, Soribada, Genie, Naver Music, Daum Music, and Monkey3.

Continuing the trend of their last hit title song “Something,” hit making team Duble Sidekick was in charge of producing Girl’s Day’s title track once again. “Darling” is a bright and lovely summer song with a catchy chorus and refreshing feel.
