Recently, a rumor started involving the October wedding between singer IU and Super Junior’s Eunhyuk.

 

On May 27, IU’s agency Loen Entertainment released an official statement. “We would like to make a statement concerning the recent rumors that spread through online SNS mobile messengers.”

The agency stated, “Firstly, we would like to say how sad we are that such an unfounded false rumor can spread so easily. We plan to involve the police to investigate and take legal actions against the person who started this rumor, as well as those that helped in spreading it.”

 

The agency continued, “In addition, we will also be investigating those that continue to make vulgar and negative comments about IU online. We plan to stop those people that make hurtful false rumors. INFINITE showed fellow member Sunggyu a little tough love during a recent filming of ‘Lee Soo Geun and Kim Byung Man’s High Society‘.

 

The members of INFINITE received the mission, “Fool Sunggyu and surprise him.” They then arrived at a penthouse, where they put their heads together in order to pull a hidden camera prank on their group’s leader. Sunggyu had no clue that his members were in the other room and had to guess who the mystery guests were.

 

Once Sunggyu was filled in on the prank, he shared, “There is no one I can trust in this world.” The others then eased up on Sunggyu and surprised him with a birthday cake, showing that they really do care.

A representative stated that veteran singer Lee Moon Sae, who is the guest for this episode, had a special place in his heart for SHINee, revealing the reason why they were brought on for this special.

Joo Won suffers an injury to his nose while filming ’1 Night 2 Days’

 

Actor Joo Won recently made a trip to the emergency room after injuring his nose while filming ‘1Night 2 Days‘.

 

His agency revealed on the 18th, “During the filming for ’1N2D’, Joo Won was in the middle of a game with the football team at Korea Maritime University and his nose collided with a player’s head, and he ended up injuring the ridge of his nose, causing swelling.”

 

Reportedly, Joo Won fell onto the floor and was unable to get up for some time, leading the staff to pause filming. Joo Won was rushed to the emergency room where he received treatment, and the actor showed his dedication to his work by insisting that he comes back to finish the filming afterwards.

The silence has finally been shattered by Lee Jang Woo and his reps after netizens voiced out, wanting to hear a response from the actor, who has never spoken up until now.

 

His reps spoke on his behalf, stating, “During the beginning stages of the drama, dating rumors with Oh Yeon Seo came out. Thus, it seems that even though there were mutual fond feelings, the two decided to just remain friends after the dating report broke out, rather than pursuing on their feelings. Sports Seoul states that a source close to the actress revealed, “Oh Yeon Seo and Lee Jang Woo have broken up. Although they couldn’t continue as girlfriend and boyfriend, they will continue to have a good sunbae-hoobae relationship.”

 

The close friend also revealed a possible reason for their breakup sharing, “Oh Yeon Seo admitted to the dating scandal. Lee Jang Woo’s side never offered a statement on this issue, leaving things to die down on their own.

 

The dating scandal also brought about controversy due to Oh Yeon Seo’s onscreen marriage with MBLAQ‘s Lee Joon on ‘We Got Married‘ at the time. Through a tearful episode of the faux-marriage program, Oh Yeon Seo also told Lee Joon stated that she and Lee Jang Woo weren’t dating. However, Lee Joon then left a mysterious post, which fans wondered was pointing at his ‘marriage’ with the actress, and soon after, the two pulled out of the show due to scheduling issues.

Well, of course they’re all gorgeous and opinion varies according to type, but Reach Panel Korea‘s PanelNow wanted to find out the answer through a poll. They surveyed 22,104 people and asked who they thought were the prettiest. Suzy gathered 29% of the votes and placed first overall.

 

YoonA came up right behind her with 25% of the votes. After that, there was a big jump down to third place, as Krystal received 9% of the votes.

 

The rest of poll is as follows: Dara with 7%, HyunA and Hara who each received 6% of the votes (1,370 for HyunA, 1,259 for Hara). Sunhwa was next with 4%, and Jiyeon along with Dasom wrapped up the poll with 2% each (461 for Jiyeon, 410 for Dasom).

Idols struggle with Korean history on ‘Infinity Challenge’

 

Despite the combined power of dozens of Korea’s most popular idols, they – just like normal students around the world – struggled with basic history questions during their appearance on the most recent episode of MBC‘s ‘Infinity Challenge’.

 

Gathering idols such as SHINee, B1A4, Orange Caramel, and others, the ‘Infinity Challenge’ crew divided up among themselves in a basic quiz show match along the lines of ‘Star Golden Bell‘. However, right from the beginning, they ran into problems as they found themselves struggling from the very first question: the name of a famous Korean pro-independence movement.

 

Answers, written on an individual whiteboard, included ‘Seven Princesses’, ‘Strong Friends’, and – most hilariously – ‘I’m Sorry Mom’. In the end, not a single idol member got the question right.

 

Their historical woes revealed, the remainder of the episode dealt with the ‘Infinity Challenge’ members doling out historical information in the form of lectures to the idol groups, punctuated, as always, with hilarious moments.

4minute‘s Sohyun, INFINITE‘s Sunggyu, and B.A.P‘s Bang Yong Guk were revealed to be one of the smartest among the 30 idols featured on the latest episode of ‘Infinity Challenge‘.

 

MC Yoo Jae Suk asked 4minute, “Which member did the best in school?”, and leader Jihyun pointed to maknae Sohyun. Sohyun surprised the other idols by revealing, “I ranked #4 in my class.” Yoo Jae Suk then asked the 30 idols, “Is there anyone here who achieved higher than fourth place?”

 

Sunggyu raised his hand and shared, “Although it’s weird to say this about myself, I achieved #2 out of my entire school.” Yoo Jae Suk responded, “You must have been very good at studying”, to which Sunggyu hilariously answered, “That’s right.”

 

Yoo Jae Suk raised the bar higher and asked, “Is there anyone who achieved higher than 2nd place?”, to which Bang Yong Guk raised his hand and shared, “I placed #1 among 800 students during my 2nd year of high school”, impressing everyone on set.

 

During the idol special, 30 idols split into 11 teams with each ‘Infinity Challenge’ member becoming their teacher. They also received special lessons from the cast, who lectured in their own individual way to teach them Korean history.

We reported on April 8 that actress Lee Yeon Hee and 2PM‘s Taecyeon would be starring together in the upcoming movie “The Eve of Marriage (working title).”

Channel A‘s documentary ‘Like A Miracle‘ filmed the story of Kim Dong Hee, a 20 year old who has suffered from cancer since he was in the 10th grade. He was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma and spent three years of high school in and out of the hospital. However, he never gave up on his life and even took the college entrance exam to successfully become a college student. In a tragic turn of events, even when the tumor was removed from his spine, the cancer cells had already spread to his lungs, and he even stopped his chemotherapy treatments.

 

When Mir heard of Kim Dong Hee’s story, he pushed aside all of his other schedules and requested that wanted to appear on the show. He revealed that when he was young, he had problems with his lungs and he had to be hospitalized for a long time, so he could somewhat relate.

 

Before they met, Mir prepared a handmade lunch for Kim Dong Hee, making sure to include the meat that Kim Dong Hee loved. They talked for a long time and Mir told Kim Dong Hee to call him hyung. Mir then went on to help Kim Dong Hee as much as he could to fulfill the list of things Kim Dong Hee wanted to do, and even prepared a surprise birthday party.

 

Looks like Mir really has a heart of gold! The documentary will air on May 12.

1,000 students came out to hear Psy give his lecture at Harvard’s Memorial Church. Recalling back to his four years at nearby Boston University where he studied management, he said, “Who could have known I’d come back to Boston after 14 years and lecture at Harvard? It’s weird. I think that’s why life is so beautiful. I gotta be humble. This doesn’t happen to everybody.”

Moon Hee Jun revealed how hurt he was from false articles that claimed he’d committed suicide.

 

He was a guest on a recent recording of ‘Quiz to Change the World‘, and he talked about the dark times when he suffered from hate comments. He said, “For 6 years, I only put out music and performed at concerts. I never came out on variety shows, since whenever I opened my mouth, it would all be misunderstood. Some articles came out saying that I committed suicide because I was releasing music but never was seen promoting it. When those rumors were spreading, random people would sometimes see me and say, ‘Huh? He’s alive?’. I heard that for around 2 years.”

 

He added, “Since I kept hearing that, I thought, is it weird that I’m alive? I was okay, but it hurt because so many people around me were like that. So when people talk of the past, I get hurt a little.”

With the summer season approaching, Nell is receiving a flood of love calls from domestic rock festivals, becoming the #1 most requested band!

 

In response to this, Woollim Entertainment said, “Every rock festival in Korea requested their appearance. They’re trying to attend as many rock festivals as possible to meet with their fans. But realistically, it’s not possible to attend everything, so they feel disappointed about it.”

‘Book of the House of Gu’ faces stiff competition from ‘God of the Workplace’ in the battle for ratings

 

The competition to be the #1 Monday-Tuesday drama continues to rage on, and the latest episode MBC‘s ‘Book of the House of Gu‘ managed to beat out KBS 2TV‘s ‘God of the Workplace‘ again, but just by a hair.

 

According to AGB Nielsen Media Research, the May 7th broadcast of ‘Book of the House of Gu’ achieved a 14.4% viewer rating, which is a 1.0% decrease from its previous day’s rating of 15.4%, but still managed to edge out the competition.

 

‘God of the Workplace’ is definitely catching up though, gaining 14.0% viewer rating, which is only 0.4% shy of ‘Book of the House of Gu’, leaving viewers to wonder who will come out on top next week.

 

SBS‘s ‘Jang Ok Jung‘ came in last place with 8.0% viewer rating.

On the May 8th installment of ‘Radio Star‘, Yoo Se Yoon pointed out, “You would go onto any kind of broadcast just to promote for TEEN TOP. There’s even a rumor that you’ll appear anywhere they promise to play their music video.” Even though everyone laughed, Yoon Jong Shin agreed, “Producers have to be like that!”

Even Yoo Se Yoon admitted, “I think this is a lot of effort.” In reply, Andy confessed, “To be honest, I hope TEEN TOP doesn’t watch this broadcast. I’ve lied to TEEN TOP before, telling them that I went on a promotional activity because it was requested.”

 

Then Yoo Se Yoon asked, “How far can you go for TEEN TOP?“. Andy then listed the various programs he’d gone on just to promote TEEN TOP. Junjin then joked, “Personally, I hope Andy does the same for our promotions this time around“, causing everyone to laugh and joke that he cared more about TEEN TOP than he did about Shinhwa.

The Shinhwa members had viewers cracking up with their entertaining episode of ’Radio Star‘ covering a variety of topics.

 

One topic that was brought up was the subject of cross dressing. Hyesung revealed, “When Eric is bored, he puts on a skirt and cross dresses. He even has a specific stocking color that he likes“.

 

As host Yoo Se Yoon joked about high heels, Junjin revealed, “[Eric] actually likes wearing high heels. They’re 285mm size [US shoe size 10.5].”

 

Eric tried to defend himself against his members’ attacks saying, “Honestly, I only started cross dressing because Minwoo kept telling me to during ‘Shinhwa Broadcast‘.” The other members admitted that Minwoo is very good at coaxing people into doing what he wants them to do.

 

Despite insisting that he’s not really into cross dressing, as soon as he was asked which color he liked best for stockings, Eric promptly answered, “I like black.“ And when Dongwan said, “But Eric’s legs are really pretty. Hyesung’s legs are pretty, too“, Eric chimed in, “My legs are prettier than Hyesung’s,” bringing laughs on set.

The talented trio returned with the second part to their 5th album, ‘Thank You’, which is themed around men who fall in love and their transformation afterwards. The title track, “Propose Song”, is a pop, ballad love song written and composed by labelmate MIIII. It’s about a nervous man who gets ready to confess his love.

CNBLUE’s Jungshin to take on his first historical drama ‘Knife and Flower’

 

CNBLUE‘s Jungshin has been cast in the upcoming KBS 2TV historical drama ‘Knife and Flower‘.

 

The new drama will be a suspenseful historical drama involving martial arts, love, jealousy, and revenge between a daughter of a murdered king and the illegitimate child of his murderer.

 

Jungshin will play the role of Goguryeo Kingdom’s finest swordsman, Si Woo. Although Si Woo normally blazes with charisma, he turns into a romantic guy around the king’s daughter Mooyoung (Kim Ok Bin). He watches over Mooyoung and gets himself entangled in a love triangle with Yun Choong (Uhm Tae Woong), who Mooyoung has her eyes on.

 

‘Knife and Flower’ will premiere following ‘Mandate of Heaven‘ this July.

JYPE say they have no comment regarding ‘S’ asking out TEEN TOP’s Niel

 

JYP Entertainment didn’t have much to say regarding the reveal of TEEN TOP‘s Niel being asked out by a JYPE girl group member with the initial ‘S’.

 

JYP Entertainment responded, “Although several names are being discussed, we will quietly let this pass over. Our position is that we have no comment.”

 

On the May 8th broadcast of ‘Radio Star‘, Shinhwa‘s Andy shocked fans by mentioning that Niel was asked out by a girl group member. Andy hinted on who it may be revealing, “I heard it was from JYP Entertainment, a girl group member ‘S’”, which led to a frenzy of netizens trying to find out which girl group member it could be.

 

Sohee has denied asking Niel out, while Andy apologized for his comments on the broadcast.
